If the Pels are willing to let us postpone the deal until after we sign a Max FA, but agree to terms now & they select who we pick at #4... We give them whoever they want.. Period.

sure. just go and look at how others describe our package. chicago's was viewed as equal or better than what we're offering at the time, and for a player who is a full tier below davis and was already older then.

i don't think people grasp how seldom a player like davis is traded at all. much less for the non-top asset (lebron) from a non-playoff team.

Other people are buying the media narrative that the Lakers should throw in the kitchen sink. Im sorry but the Chicago trade was not viewed as equal or better.
NEVER in NBA history has a disgruntled star EVER gotten anything near equal value. Why start now? Cause Anthony Davis? Great player, but no need to be suckers
    in the deal.

    i mean, yes?

hell, our much maligned shaq deal returned caron butler (MUCH higher profile than anyone we're offering) and odom (same).

is the argument that davis isn't that good or that stars don't get traded for value? i disagree on both counts.

then again, i'm the guy who wanted to offer big on paul george. i feel good about that now.

Neither caron or odom were all stars. Caron was averaging 13pts a game in the 2 years with the heat. Lamar was touted as great prospect.

Kuz and Bi both averaged more points already than caron. You add zo and the 4th? Too much. Paul george? You wanna talk hindsight? I love PG, but it wasn't a bad decision (at the time) to wait for a guy who told everyone he was coming to LA.

@abeer3 if your thought process is that even with all 3 youth n the 4th isnt enough as griff still hasnt accepted, what else do we have left to offer?

And I'd much rather be in the position we are now with trading for AD rather than Paul George with our assets. AD is a top five player. George is not. I'm all in with AD. I don't think it will take all four of those parts: Ingram, Kuz, Lonzo and the 4. I say give them three of the four and let's call it a day. They won't see a better offer than that before the draft or after IMO.

That's more than Lonzo and Ingram who are both younger than him and much smaller. Bigs are more injury prone.

    Imo this is done.

Zo probably gets rerouted to bring back another top 10 pick (via Phx, Chi, Wash or ATL) to combine with the 4th to bring in an All-star. That way NO gets a "star", BI and future draft picks/swaps. It checks all the boxes and we spare Kuz. At least that's how I see it going down now.

Btw seems like relevant AD news...

Roc Nation has BK's LeVert as a client. It's NY's own Jay-Z's agency. Also Ky left his longtime agent who also repped Tatum. Bye Felicia.

Man these reports are upsetting me. We value Kuzma higher than Lonzo for contractual reasons? To open up cap space for free agents reportedly unlikely to sign with us? This is like the DLO and Randle nightmare all over again.

Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo, Keep Lonzo!!!

It's not about which one they value more. It's about deciding which one they'd rather have on the roster when the dust settles (assuming they can keep one). The Lakers want to keep Kuzma because his contract won't eat into a potential max FA salary the way Lonzo's will. That doesn't mean the Lakers don't value Lonzo, and/or don't think they're entitled to get a good return for him.

We better get something back for ourselves that's useful as well for Zo. He's worth more than just a lower lottery pick.

    All I know is this....

Boston isn't offering s***. Kyrie is GONE, and thank GOD the news of him changing agents came today too. That should take Boston out of the race...

Griffin is using C Bags as leverage...when in fact he should be using NYK as leverage. He has to do that though to show that he tried with Boston but they never made an offer...its called being a smart GM. Griffin knows he has to take the Lakers offer. It's just a matter of what can he get out of them?

I say we stand strong on BI/Zo/4th. Do not give up Kuzma/Hart as they are on cheap contracts and will be key depth/role players for us when we get a 3rd star.

i don't like keeping kuzma over lonzo

kuzma is the better scorer, lonzo is better at everything else. and his defense is something this team desperately needs. i honestly don't even like the idea of parting with BI but i guess its pretty much inevitable at this point

guys keep in mind...BI/Lonzo/4th (after we sign it) works PERFECTLY under the cap in an AD trade. This is probably why Lakers are thinking there's no reason to have Kuzma or Hart in the deal as they're not needed to make salaries work and we're giving our 3 best assets.
