Really pumped they got in so I can catch a game. I was going to wear my black DLo Lakers jersey even though I dont like wearing non-competing team gear, but I found my red Vince Carter Nets jersey that I got at a thrift store a few years back.

It feels blasphemous to say after 30 years of Lakers fandom, but if the FO doesn’t right the ship this offseason I might start inching closer to the Nets. I don’t see myself moving back to LA in the future and I love how Atkinson has had these guys playing for a couple years already.

Even better, I hate the Sixers, Embiid is a tool, Butler is a jerk, Simmons is too cool for school, Reddick is from Duke, and even players like McConnell irritate me.

Well it’s the Nets so see you in a few years when they are back to being the Nets.

    Here's how I plotted Russell's development:

    Year 1: 16.4-5.3-4.7
    Year 2: 17.3-5.3-4.7
    Year 3: 18.2-5.3-4.7
    Year 4: 19.1-5.3-4.7

I had him at a peak of 20.7 points, 5.8 assists, 4.7 rebounds. I'll note that those are per36, and I expect a player to be able to get close to that as they mature (unless otherwise noted; some players aren't starters).

    His actual performance (not per36):
    Year 1: 13.2-3.3-3.4
    Year 2: 15.6-4.8-3.5
    Year 3: 15.5-5.2-3.9
    Year 4: 21.1-7.0-3.9

So, he has outperformed my projections now.

    Julius Randle
    Me vs. Actual
Year 1: 13.2-2.0-9.5 vs. (Horrific injury)
    Year 2: 14.3-2.3-9.6 vs. 11.3-1.8-10.2
    Year 3: 15.4-2.6-9.8 vs. 13.2-3.6-8.6
    Year 4: 16.6-2.9-10.0 vs. 16.1-2.6-8.0
    Breakout: 19.0-3.3-10.0 vs. 21.4-3.1-8.7

Randle looks like he's a better scorer and worse rebounder (at least now) than what I'd imagined.

I've lived for Lakers basketball for a long time. Since I moved to the East coast 4 years ago, I've stayed up until 1-2am way too many times for a team that tanks every year. I'll never stop being a fan, but I'm at a point in my life where I'm more interested in a young team that plays hard and plays the right way every single night, all while having a former young Laker blossoming here.

Each to their own I guess, I unfortunately have to get up at 3:30am to watch home games, which I’ve been doing now for 15 years, to me, your team is your team, you can’t unfortunately be a 60 win team every year.

That’s not to say what I think is right or everyone has to support one team or any team etc.

Anyway I’ve probably rambled and not explained what I mean correctly, but enjoy the Nets.

Russ wraps up a season with 1600 points, 500 assists, 200 triples, and 100 steals. This is the thirteenth time in NBA history it's happened.

    Step Curry 5 times
    Harden 5 times
    Westbrook 1 time
    Tim Hardaway 1 time
    Russ 1 time

Russ is the youngest player to do it.

He's also chasing a possible triple double here. 9-7-4 at the half.

Terrible in the first half, great in the second half.

Philly couldn't do much. Simmons without a jumpshot will struggle in the playoffs with the games slowing down.

Harris was just useless. Butler had a great 2nd quarter. Embiid was uncharacteristically quiet... Philly seems to be a choke team.

I thought Russell's rivalry was with McConnell? :)

What about making a shot? Kareem Abdul Jubbac sure didn't in his 10 mins of time yesterday.

Meanwhile that George individual that one shouldnt gander a guess to it's gender, was 8/24 and seems to be struggling with injuries for the 2nd year in a row.

Kudos to DLo tho and my #PettyWarz needn't apply to him cause I don't want to go about the "process" of going at Trodger's guy. Trav is a savage on socials and I don't need that smoke.

As for other kinds of smoke...I might have to partake. And then maybe, I'll take up a Colangelo to go at D'Angelo.

On socials?! Haha...I keep a low profile there. It's all good.

Embiid got to the line any time he wanted, though, and this should be a tough series. Here's hoping my guy can pull it out.
