It'd be great but like you say won't happen. What's an old slow white guy going to teach my boy Lonzo anyway?

    You sure about that?

Guess who's' still playing and will be playing deep into the playoffs for the second year straight and adding to his resume?

    Tatum.

Guess who's sitting at home for the second year straight with another injury that will likely keep him out all summer and once again not improving anything in his game?

    Lonzo.

The best ability is availability. Lonzo doesn't have it, and Tatum does, all while being a way better player and being the same age as Lonzo and will continue to get better and improve each summer by asking one of the all time greats for help in the summer (Tatum and Kobe). Meanwhile, Lonzo will be rapping in Lithuania with Lance Stephenson.

Don't kid yourself bro. You'd take Tatum over Lonzo right now, any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Tatum is likely to be an all star player for a number of years...Lonzo will be lucky to be in the LEAGUE 10 years from now shooting 41% from the free throw line on 2 attempts a game.

i'd take tatum because he's not hurt all the time. in terms of impact, horrible shooting and all, i think they're pretty similar when they're available. comes down to team need at that point.

I'll take Tatum because he's available AND he's better, period.

And every metric suggests that Tatum is better than Lonzo, advanced or not.

That can't possibly be true. It's fine that you consider Tatum a better player, but without even looking up the numbers I'm 100% sure that not every metric shows Tatum is better.

Yeah I’m 100% confident Zo is a better defender and passer.

Why is everybody anyway raving so much about Tatum. Mitchell and even Fox are better players to me. I would take Donovan over any of the guys from that Draft. At least he is not afraid of the moment and not made of glass ...

they're equal in VORP and BPM for their careers. tatum kills him on WS (because his team wins). ball kills him on assist % and beats him on rebound %.

it's really not the slam dunk case the media claims it is. except for games played.

Can't compare a guy who played 80 games last year (Tatum) and will play about the same this year to a guy who has played 59% of his games his first 2 years in the league. Hell Zo even got injured in summer league too. Love his game but as of right now, he is branded injury prone until proven otherwise. Maybe he'll be like Curry, great but he was branded injury prone too and he didn't get paid like he ended up being worth when he got his first non-rook deal because of that. I'd rather watch Zo play, I like a player whose game is such that you can't tell what he's gonna do any given moment. But right now, anyone takes Tatum over Zo not even a discussion.

01/19/2019 Left Ankle (out for season)
    11/28/2018 Ankle
    11/09/2018 Ankle
03/29/2018 Bruised Left Knee (out for season and unable to properly train over summer)
01/14/2018 Sore Left Knee (16 games)
12/24/2017 Left Shoulder Sprain (6 games)
    07/16/2017 Right Calf (summer league)

Hello red flag. At the same time a lot of this stuff sounds like badly prepared from a conditioning pov. Maybe we get rid of Mr celebrity trainer who trains Kim Kardashian's big butt and get real NBA trainers.

I keep seeing words like “anyone” and “everyone” would take Tatum over Zo. Guess I’m neither of those. I’ve gone out of my way to watch a fair amount of Tatum this year. Most games he just floats around and is nearly invisible. Operating under the assumption that Zo stays healthier as his body develops, I take Zo over Tatum every time. Scorers are a dime a dozen these days and Tatum does virtually nothing else.

By "anyone" I mean everyone in a position to sign or trade for players like a GM. Not fans in a forum.

No I get it and i apologize if I sound bitter, I’m just exhausted from the media propping up Tatum based on a playoff series and no real growth in his game. The jury is still out on most of these prospects since they’re only 20-21 years old and Tatum could end up being great, but I see a guy who takes a lot of long 2s and is flat out incapable of creating for others. It’s fine if a GM would take Tatum over Zo, but if Zo can add strength and stay healthy, I believe those GMs would be wrong. There are plenty of incompetent FOs out there, including ours.

    I would also take Tatum.

Not so much because I think he is that much better right now but

    1. He can stay on the floor

    2. He doesn't have a dubious surrounding with a stupidazz dad

    3. Most importantly Tatums game offers more to work with. He doesn't have a broken Jumper that is irreparable, he can shoot FTs, he can make layups and he doesn't lack natural aggressiveness on the floor. Lonzo lacks these basic requirements for a player and most of those are not fixable. He will never be a good FT shooter, no matter how many he shoots in practice. You either have the mental chops or you don't.

It is clear to me that Tatum is the safer choice longterm and he comes without a baggage of a looney dad.

f*** Tatum. He's overated POS.If BSPN were based in Montana or Alabama, not in Connecticut nobody will ever mention him .How often did you listen that Valanchunas who recently just killed Lakers was a star while he was playing in Toronto.Same is here

Y'all cursed Tatum by talking about him so much. He's injured now, something with the shoulder.

I would take Donovan Mitchell over both those guys. Imagine if we traded down to grab Mitchell from the jazz by trading Russell and Deng for their pick and cap. We still could have drafted kuz with the lou trade for Houston pick.

    DMo
    Ingram
    LeBron
    Randle
    Lopez

    Beverley
    Bullock
    Kuz
    Wagner
    Zu

This would have been a much funner team and healthier as well
