yeah...i'm not sure it's a small sample size. i'm sure someone has done these analyses somewhere. but by the end of this year, lonzo will have had an opportunity to play in 164 games. he's played in 99, and i wouldn't be shocked if he missed the rest of this year or most of it. average career length is probably around 600 games or so, obviously more for stars, but i'd say it's a pretty healthy sample size. and again, these aren't weird injuries like paul george's broken leg. they're run-of-the-mill issues that just happen to recur and linger at alarming rates.

also, i wouldn't be so sure that emiid's out of the woods, injury-wise. it's why porzingis was available in trade even though he has superstar potential and has already produced at near an allstar level. the most important ability is availability.

and i think curry still has a tendency to wear down. he's been obviously compromised in two of their last three playoff runs, and it cost them once and almost another.

there's a such thing as injury prone-ness, and i think it manifests itself early.

If Lonzo plays 10-15 years (entirely possible) then 2 years is a small sample size.

I agree that Embiid is still a risk. Curry, not at all. Wearing down over the course of a season is not being injury prone or a made of glass thing. I'd be happy if Lonzo achieves Curry's level of durability for his career.

I imagine if we weren't tanking, he might be rushed back, but yeah...why? To lose a couple spots in draft position? Gotta tank now. Again. Hope lebron enjoys it.

We have tanked more often than Hitler in the 2nd world war.

    It's increasingly beyond all bearing..

yeah, and this year it's for a slightly higher spot in a pretty weak draft.

I think had they initially known he had a bone bruise the diagnosis wouldn’t have been 4-6 weeks, which seemed ridiculous for a grade 3 sprain and his injury history already. I can only hope we see him in a Lakers jersey again next seaon. It may be the case we do because he and Ingram, probably our 2 most tradable assets, now have season ending injuries and NO won’t want to take them on.

Lets hope he recovers intime to actually have a summer to develop his skills. Waited too long last year to have surgery.

Sadly no surprise here. Hopefully Lonzo recovers soon and can get back to working on his game.

I know it makes all the sense in the world to shut him down for the season considering it’s in the Lakers best interest to tank all our remaining games.

However, from a durability standpoint it truly is concerning he will have averaged to play only 50 games per season since he’s been the league... and that he was essentially out recovering the entire summer too.

He’s been practically injured 6 months of the year.

I feel like even with how severe this injury is, he could probably be back by the end of the year if we were in position for the playoffs. Since we’re not, at this point it just makes sense to keep him out the rest of the season and timeline wise, he should be ready to hit the ground running for a productive summer of development.

Definitely. Gonna run through walls for the Lakers this summer. When not working on his entertainment career that got sidetracked last summer.

What do you guys think about Zo reaching out to Nash this summer? I think that could do wonders for him...though it won't happen, just a thought.
