Shelburne was on the radio today playing a yes-no game for future coaches. She said no to Phil, Thibs, Kidd, Jackson. She said yes to Lue, Doc, JVG. She brought up Gentry and Williams on her own as potential candidates, too.

Doc Rivers signed a contract extension last year that keeps him with the Clippers until the 2020-2021 season. Unless the Clippers fire him, he's not coming here.

Or we trade for him like the Clippers did. But I'd rather not waste a pick on that.

I dislike Rivers, but the Clippers have gained a modicum of respectability under his watch. Especially after CP3 and Blake we’re gone. He’s done a great job with this current team. They’re good players, but it takes a great coach to lead a team with NO stars into a Western Conference playoff berth.

I’m not giving up much for him though. Only way it makes sense is if the Clippers want to move on from him to get a coach who fits better with whatever free agents they try to recruit.

Crazy how it's becoming Luke vs Magic/Rob in the media...

This is definitely a piece that was pushed out by Luke's camp to save him from Magic/Rob and maybe get Jeanie to fire them instead of them letting go of Luke

    fascinating dynamics for sure

There's an argument for both, but the tie breakers goes to Lebron, so Luke is out

    so it's Lebron's fault tbh

I had been considering it and this article got me to bit the bullet. That's a pretty scathing piece, definitely not a good look for our organization...reminiscent of the one that came out about Mitch/Jim right about the time Magic took over.

Well, he still is a s***ty coach. Perhaps he has become a better talent evaluator.

lols of course phil's name would pop up

the lakers could have a coaching vavancy in 2050 and people will call for phil's corpse to take over as HC

I can for sure see Lue as our coach...not Doc or JVG.

even if luke had wanted randle/lopez back, he still runs a poor system n besides hes better off elsewhere if he has to work under 2 seemingly incompetent execs likes maginka

If you guys like my style of film breakdowns... these videos are a must watch. Shows why the coaching staff is suspect in many of our non injury struggles. They're by a guy who was the video coordinator for the Wizards, so he has a great perspective into what actions we were running and how they were supposed to turn out.
