Yeah, being a primary scoring option for 82 games on a contending team with the defense focusing entirely on you is vastly different than his role now, and will take significant improvement for that to occur. Not even every NBA all star this year can put that to their name.

Ingram was great. Aggressive and came to play.

The problem is that his style includes a lot of iso. So most of the time when Ingram looks great, the overall offense stutters.

We need to find a way to get it done both ways. Have Ingram score within the flow of the offense but for that to happen he needs to get comfortable shooting the ball.

Ingram continues to be on fire. Love his response to trade rumors. He’s earning all the praise he’s getting on the floor right now.

Did you know that Tatum invented the jump shot? Totally revolutionized the game.

He also called bank on a 70 point jump shot he took when he was 11. The ball will re-enter the Earth's atmosphere in 2021.

We are going to trade Ingram, and then he is going to become an all-star instantly. Watch.

At this point I simply do not care who is becoming what or not.

I want wins ASAP. If trading Ingram gets us more wins... Ship his azz out. This applies to all and every Laker player.

I don't want potential. With that said it is a tough task because you have to weigh your present and your future. You don't sacrifice too much of your future for your short term success.

Good franchises understand to find balance between short term success and sustainability for long term success.

The Lakers unfortunately suck at both. They trade away the future for short term success which isn't there.

If he has turned a corner, it can change the calculus of what we do this summer...IMO.

    I’d still trade him....

But only for a top 5 talent in their prime. Otherwise we got something good cooking that Jayson Christ can’t compete with.

This run is really impressive for him. Finishing at the rim and actually getting some foul calls (and making them) has been huge for his game. 3 point shot and less dribbling to get to spots are next up on the list.

Nice progression in an otherwise frustrating season.

My vote having seen enough extended flashes of the all around high level player Brandon is going to become in just the next couple of years let alone his prime .... star level IMO .... is that at some point the FO needs to stop shipping this kind of talent out and plan long term. Sorry Kuz fans and believe me I am one of them big time, I'd like to keep them both of course ..... but pick BI to be the one you hold onto and start building a damn team for the long haul and if it takes waiting until next summer for AD if he is serious about being here then so be it. NO will be no more inclined to spare us BI and Kuzma and Hart and picks / whatever this summer. Klutch needs to let any other teams know on the low that he will become a free agent the next summer regardless. He has changed his mind. Will not sign and extension. Players do that all the time..... change their minds, right Paula?

So you have AD in his prime going forward, Ingram heading toward a wonderful prime and star status type play next year whether he gets votes or not. The skills and game are what's important. LeBron's still going to be able to be mostly LeBron that last 2 years and if we can keep Ball here as well you have 3 stars already in place in LeBron's declining years and after he's gone. If we can attract a FA target this summer all the better. But do not keep shipping our for their ages elite potential talent out.

Agreed completely LT. IMO it's the best plan going forward to not trade any of the youth and just try to sign one more star this off-season or just fill in the team with actual valuable, complimentary pieces (if/when we strike out). IMO the talent we have assembled on rookie contracts is a huge asset and may pay huge dividends in 1-2 years and allow us to remain competitive long-term.

And fellas that lines up perfectly with this summer.

I actually want to trade for AD and hope we can figure out how to prevent BI from being in the package.

But let's say AD can't be had...2020 it is.

But if we sign a free agent this summer, AD can't be had in 2020, right???

Actually we can sign a max deal this summer. All these dudes are about to be 9 year vets and can get a 35% max deal in 2020 heading into their 10th year. So they're most likely going to sign a 1+1 deal this summer.

We then see how max guy and Bron play with each other and the kids. If it don't work out, you can trade the kids for AD at the deadline and if they still stonewall us, we wait for AD to come in the summer of 2020 while the max guy opts out of his deal and heads elsewhere for a 35% max raise.

We'll trade BI for another Muscala since he's up for a new contract after next year...

Here's the deal if I'm a Free Agent: I'm looking at the game last night; and watched LeBron who did and one other great performance from BI almost take down a very well-coached Miluwakee Bucks Team; if I'm a Free Agent, I'm thinking, "I can possibly add my talents there with BI and LeBron, and we can build on something..."

That's what I'm optimistic about when we go recruiting; BI is showing the hell out right now, and although, we probably won't make the PO's, I don't think the quality of his play is all for not right now...

Do I trade him if a top 5 talent becomes available? Probably, but at the rate BI is growing, he's making the argument more difficult to trade him right now.

So what do during the summer? We see where our 1st round pick lands, revisit AD talks, and if No doesn't want to talk, the move on...we have to start adding some quality depth to this team. I want to make the PO's and start contending and with a healthy core, LeBron, and a couple of added quality FA's we can do something...
