BI only takes 1.8 threes a game. He is shooting the same percentage as Kuz who takes 6 a game. I like that BI plays to his strengths as opposed to jacking them up. It is definitely a shot he needs to work on but that is what summer is for.

Yeah sorry for coming off too aggressively. My point is you seem to just dismiss as unlikely he will ever be even simply a very good .... 36, 37, 38% (?) or above 3 point shooter or whatever in the league is considered good like a Kawhi Leonard, when that player (BI) is also a swiss army knife type guy. Seems totally likely IMO. It's not like his numbers from 3 the 2nd half of last year or 2nd half of this year haven't been really good to great at times. The signs are there. I don't recall much of anyone on LB since it was first dismissed when he came out of college and we all agreed not likely ..... since then 2 and a half years ago .... still saying yeah he's got a shot at being KD 2.0 from long range. But Some level of KD/KL lite from long range will be more than fine. Do you still think that is not possible or likely?

I think he'll improve for sure. But I don't see him turning into an elite shooter.

Above you say again you don't see even K.D. Lite. What is your definition of "lite" in the first place and "why not" is my question. But now again you go off on "elite". Give numbers at least for your personal set of definitions. Please start with the range for "lite" and then "elite" but again it seems a straw man with me not talking about 2.0 Durant.

    This.

My reply above was emphasizing KD-Lite. That's different to me that KD 2.0. To be KD 2.0 you would have to be a generationly elite scorer leading the league in scoring multiple seasons as a pure shooter. BI is never going to get there. But KD-Lite is somewhat less than KD. BI has already shown he has the capacity for that in this streak of games.

I said that Ingram can improve his shooting. But saying "KD Lite" implies him turning into a VERY good shooter. If that's not what you meant, then my bad. But I don't think Ingram will become a very good shooter. He can improve enough that the defense has to respect his shot and won't be as willing to foul him, which they currently do not.

I think you're playing a bit of semantics. You were first arguing that Ingram can never be a "great" shooter, then you brought up "elite" and now "very good" shooter.

Ingram will probably never be elite, but he can develop into a great shooter.

Let's use a grading scale instead.

    :Brows:

Btw, why can't BI just be the next....

BI aka Rubberband Man aka BIP with the red lips.

So you leave it at that and don't clarify even ballpark what in your estimation constitutes the career boxes you're putting him in as far as ceilings on particular skills, with 3 point shooting being the topic here. KD Lite, KD 2.0, very good, elite, etc. How can anyone debate with your general he won't be very good of a shooter "take" when we can't tell what you're even talking about. Nice little dance you're doing .... said respectfully until you flesh out some numbers as you personally see them. Ranges of % to put faces on your names. He has already put up what I am sure are elite numbers for periods of time last year and now this year. Why "lite" instead, compared to Kawhi or Durant in long distance shooting does not seem so unlikely as you maintain.

LOL dude I'm just using your phrasing. You have yet to define criteria as to *what percent* of KD Ingram can become. If you want concrete stuff, I can come up with arbitrary guidelines.

    1. Ingram will never become the primary scoring option on a contending team.
    2. Ingram will never have a 50-40-90 season.
    3. Ingram will never shoot above 85% from the FT line.
    4. Ingram will never shoot above 38% on 4+ 3PA per game.

I hate to sound negative, but that's what I feel. Doesn't mean he won't become a good player. In fact he's playing pretty well right now.

If you feel he can become comparable to KD in distance shooting, I challenge you to put out some numbers explaining what you mean, because you've been dancing around it just as much as I have.

you are overrating our young core like most Laker fans, you didn't take into account the fact that Jayson Christ walks on water.
