Over any of the names bandied about except Jay Wright, who is not leaving his great gig with a great program at Villanova to come coach the Lakers with the ultimate coach killer on the team .....yeah give me Jeff Van Gundy. Except he has a great gig too and has seen how Mag and Rob build rosters.
Woke up today revitalized knowing our head coach had Mike Muscala and Rajon Rondo bricking shots in the 4th quarter of a must win game in our playoff run.
Starring Rondo was the right move. Kuz at center was not. Better to start javale and play kuz 30+ off the bench and play lance and KCP less. Also aside from the last minute, there was some actual non ISO offense being run at times.
I really don’t understand why Luke waits until we blow a lead or lose control completely before calling a timeout. I’m sure sitting next to Phil ingrained in his head to let them play through it, but Phil never played young players, so the vets were able to do that because they’ve been through it. With a younger team, you need to round them in and settle them down and call out the next play. This team snowballs bad play after bad play and ruins any momentum we have. Take a page from Pops book, doesn’t matter if you have a team of vets or rooks, if something looks off, call a timeout and regroup.
Player 1 - 17 +\- and roasted on defense Player 2 -22 +\- bonehead Both played the majority of the fourth. Fire yourself man. Two times an inbounds pass got stolen. That’s unacceptable. I’m so done with Luke. THEY WERE HEADHUNTING RONDO AND KCP ON DEFENSE YOU DOPE. ITS CHESS NOT CHECKERS.
This one's on Luke. There was a clear difference in offensive execution between what Budenholzer did vs what Walton did. Ingram ISOs, Kuzma-Rondo PnRs, and just standing around and watching are NOT going to get it done against a contending team. He should watch some film tonight and learn how the Bucks set up their guys for easy baskets and put Giannis in positions to succeed close to the rim, instead of near half court like we did with LeBron.
He could have played Hart or Bullock in the last 2 minutes. Instead he plays KCP and has him throw the inbounds pass? Why? Know your personnel.
Luke said in the postgame presser that he believes KCP is one of the team's best perimeter defenders. I strongly disagree.
I have been supporting Luke, but what in the living hell? KCP is garbage! I honestly would rather play Bonga at this point.
