Yes. I never want to see another AD thread until Summer of 2020. Because that's the only way he will ever be a Laker.

Couple things about Boston's potential to be AD trade partners:

First off, he's not that into you... And neither is his pops. That's knowing that Ky is still in play for them (but then again maybe there's something they know that we don't know, but who knows?)

Secondly, they got RFAs like Rozier and Theis that makes it highly complicated for their involvement in a trade.

Third, due to the Rose rule, the trade can't be officially made till after July 1st. So the draft has to happen in the dark. It's not like the Pels can sit in on Boston's warroom discussions and tell them how to navigate the draft board with the picks they might have via trade, but don't legally have yet since no trade at that point can make it binding.

Fourth, cLips and Memphis both possibly tanking, meaning their war chest is down 2 out of 4 potential picks. Then consider Sac is in win now mode as they are and so the Sac pick and their own pick are lower level 1sts this year...yay!

Fifth, based off their salary situation, they cannot do Brown/Tatum/rookie contracts in a trade for just AD. Smart has to be involved for the salary matching and rumor has it that they were trying to get off money (ie Solomon's contract) within an AD deal. With Smart having to be in the package, they actually take on salary...and being a small market team that's been in the red, taking on salary for a lower tier player isnt Smart.

    Sixth, Ainge.Cant.Be.Trusted. (just ask IT)

And I'll stop at 6...cause you know, Satan's favorite team.

AD can control all of this by simply telling any and every team in the Summer, that he will be an LA Laker in 2020. PG said it, didnt do it. Kawhi could do it, but wont. Klay may have come if AD came today, but not likely coming either. So, here we are. lets see what he does. Power lies in AD 100%.

I know Nick Wright gets a lot of hate, but it was nice seeing him and Cris Carter call out Mannix on his Boston homerism. I think towards the end Nick makes some good points on how absurd it is that everyone is still treating AD as a little kid in this scenario. The narrative that he's not free to make his own decisions, he somehow got puppeteered into this by the scheming Rich Paul and Lebron. No, dude wanted to leave New Orleans and play with the Lakers. It's that simple. His agency made a strategic decision that this was the best way to try to get it done. It didn't work out, but it was still good strategy. If the Pelicans weren't so spiteful, we were perfectly positioned to be the only real player in the market. If I'm AD and my objective is to get to the Lakers, I'd have to be pretty satisfied with how Rich Paul played his cards. AD got to save face through all this. He demanded a trade, but Rich Paul and Lebron take all the heat as the bad guys.

And then similarly, the narrative that Lebron and Rich Paul were over here designing trade packages to make Magic offer. It's ridiculous. Yeah, Lebron wanted the trade to happen. Obviously. So did all of us. That's because it's a no brainer to try and acquire one of the best players in the league and we had a realistic chance to do it. Magic didn't offer them all our young guys because Lebron told the front office to. He offered all the young guys because they needed to in order to have a chance to get AD. And like Lebron, like us, Magic wanted AD too. This window was likely our best shot to get him.

And what did it cost? We had one bad loss in Indiana, and that pic of Lebron distant on the bench was cute in its irony making for some easy stories for sports shows. But all the buzz about how Magic/Rich Paul/Lebron have ruined our chemistry/season is way overblown. As we saw today, our guys are gonna play through it. I think in the moment there is some tension when you don't know if you'll have to move cities any minute, but now that it's over they can settle down and just hoop. So overall we showed AD we're serious about him and then we significantly improved our team through some secondary moves (assuming we can add someone like Ellington). At worst, I think the trade rumors will have a negligible impact on our on-court performance. At best, it might light a fire under the guys.

"Do you mind if I touch your horn?" (pause)

"Don't be startled. It's just that I've never seen a unicorn before...you know, a sensible Lakers fan...they just don't exist!"

“Btw, you can touch my horn...it's not the same thing, but I'm a Laker fan..just a different type"

Yes thanks HJ. And thank gawd for the amazing and uplifting last second win against Boston rather than another beat down like at Indy. I fully crossed over yesterday into sky is falling dude and lost it in my posts. Yikes don't want to be that guy ever again hopefully. Just give us health and Lonzo back and a lightning strike on LaVar next storm.

At this point, our chances to land Anthony Davis via trade hinge on Kyrie Irving. If Kyrie leaves to the Knicks or Lakers, Ainge will not give up Tatum in a Davis trade. You can't give up your only good player for a one year rental. AD coupled with Jaylen Brown, Rozier, and broken Gordon Hayward is't even getting out of the second round. So If Kyrie leaves, the door is open and it would likely be us against the Clippers. The other wildcard is if the Knicks win the draft lottery. Then they can offer Zion and pair AD with KD and Kyrie.

So the Pelicans' strategy can backfire huge. Kuzma, Ball and 2 firsts is better than anything the C Bags would be willing to offer at that point. Maybe the Clippers can scrounge something together, but their picks aren't that good. Their Miami pick in 2021 looks like it has the most promise, and they've already won too many games this season to have a good shot at a top 3 pick of their own. Philly's pick next season is likely going to be in the bottom 5 of the first round. Who else gives up more than Kuzma, Ball and two picks when he will almost undoubtedly be a rental?

I have a sliver of hope that our 2019-2020 starting 5 will be:

    Chandler
    AD
    Lebron
    Ingram
    Kyrie

This thread went from he was going to show he was out Nawlins by declining to sign his supermax this summer...

    TO...

He don't want to f*** with Boston (rumored to be the fav to trade for him) at all by demanding for a trade during a time they couldn't bid, revealing that Ky is waffling on a return, not putting the cbags on his list and having Sr go savage on their franchise.

Now this summer, Nawlins leverage and potential return turns to s***. We could angle having BI or Zo out the package and still go get a 30%max player.

I would say this thread turned for the better.

    :Shh:
