the leaks feel like it couldve came from both sides....magic side to show that they went all out to get this done, while pelicants side so they can troll

 

I don’t understand why the Pelicans Twitter continues to troll and crack jokes. At the end of the day, no matter how embarrassed and beat down the Lakers are, we still have a superstar and they will soon lose the only player that keeps that relevant. Good luck drafting because that’s the only way we will hear about the Pelicans after this AD saga blows over. That hourglass is more symbolic of their impending doom than the Lakers running out of time.

This was a double edged sword from the beginning. Had AD been traded and it came out we didn’t try, we would hear the same old criticism of why we didn’t throw the books at him. Why didn’t we get Lebron help?

Then, now that we’ve thrown everything, we’re criticized for tampering and for throwing the youth under the bus. Pelicans didn’t accept because now they’re trolling?

No matter what we do, it’s going to be spun in a way for us to look foolish. At the end of the day, we still have our kids, we still have cap room, Rich Paul and Lebron are still in AD’s ear. People can laugh all they want, Boston will either give the Pels are crap package, or they give Tatum and he walks. Both scenarios screw Boston either way cause AD is gonna walk, and one screws the Pelicans out of a package that’s not gonna be even close to what we offered.

Then when it comes to talk revenue sharing with all these fun little small market teams, Jeannie will hopefully take a stand on the collusion and force their hands.

We’re the Lakers, we remain relevant for a reason.

 

the way the media rallied to try and influence this outcome was absolutely shameful.

 

At the time I think most of us still believed that negotiations were happening in good faith. I just don’t believe that anymore. If anything, the Pacers got the ball rolling on all of this with their tampering charge.

I was right there with you guys wanting that deal. Knowing how deep all of this goes with other teams actively working against us, I just don’t see it.

Ok, then after the Paul trade, and Kawhi situation, why were so many led to think that the Anthony Davis trade would ever be consummated.

my only solace today is that we got totally screwed in the kg deal in similar fashion (half of minny's organization wanted to take our better deal, iirc), then a few months later we got pau for like, none of what we were offering for kg.

so, yeah, next pau, come on down, plz.

 

I thought this was 50/50 but was optimistic.

I had no idea it was going to go like this. I don’t think anyone did even if they didn’t think the deal would get done.

 

i was finally annoyed enough to look at the stats. even advanced stats don't have tatum as that much better than our guys. in fact, ball compares favorably to him in VORP and BPM. ingram and kuz both look better than brown, and in some metrics quite similar to tatum. why is this myth perpetuated?

I’m here. I kinda view something with Beal/Vucevic the same way depending on which kids we were able to keep.

 

i actually thought this deal was done, otherwise there wouldn't have been so many leaks. i honestly had no idea the pelicans were so classless. i'm sort of shocked, actually. once i heard we offered the house, i was pretty sure it was done. it wasn't until yesterday that i realized it wasn't happening.
