Regardless if they intend to do a deal or not, they'd be dumb not to contact us with a counter and ask for even more. To not even discuss a trade just reflects poorly on them.

 

lowe had a full paragraph in today's hit piece that simply stated his superiority as obvious fact (without support, because...wait for it...it doesn't exist) and then used it as the fulcrum of the "don't deal with la" argument.

I'm clinging on to the little bit of hope that all these reports are big fat lies.... that Magic and Demps are actually talking and we'd send them just BI + Kuz + 1st rd pick + filler for AD.

 

I highly doubt New Orleans trades with us. And honestly I doubt Woj’s report that they haven’t responded to us.

But assuming that it’s true... it doesn’t really mean anything. New Orleans could be stonewalling to see what other offers come in at the last minute, and once they realize nothings coming it takes one quick call. Demps says “Ownership will accept the trade if you throw in one more first rounder”. Magic immediately says yes. AD is on the way.

I read that and laughed! ESPN has become CNN.

The rub for the mainstream media is that people who know basketball... and I’m assuming the Pels would be in that group know what Tatum’s talents and can see that the Lakers package is superior.

But, loyalists to certain teams are concocting all sorts of crap and half truths to try to alter the conclusion. They may succeed but I don’t think the crap they spew would sway the people that know basketball.

I’ve watched the C Bags enough to know that he probably is not going to be an Allstar and that he is comparable to Kuzma.

 

Guys, let's not be dumb. Tatum is an elite prospect and likely going to be the best player out of Kuzma, Ingram and Ball.

WIth that being said...I still think our package is better even if C's package is headlined by Tatum.

The Problem for Pelicans is this: C Bags are NOT going to include Tatum because I believe that Kyrie is going to leave. Even IF he doesn't leave though...the C's still may not include Tatum because of AD's unwillingness to sign long term with them.

Every single analyst is ignoring this right now...and that is what is SO frustrating about this whole thing.

Tatum is a future all star, yes. But I believe 2 of our 3 guys have as good of a shot at being an all star as Tatum...

I mean come on..people TRASHED D-Lo when he was here...and now he's an all star.

I think the same is going to happen for these guys but it won't be on the Lakers. None of Kuzma, Ingram, Ball or Tatum will EVER be as good as AD, which is why I do the deal for AD no questions asked. BUT, the C Bags package is HiGHLY overrated and the reporting of their "assets" is grossly misleading (At this very moment, they'll end up with only TWO picks in the upcoming draft....their own and the Kings which will be a non-lotto pick if they make the playoffs over the Clippers!)
