The news about the Pelicans choosing to sit out Davis is interesting. Makes me think they might be willing to do a trade after some internal reflection.

At this point most of the league agrees we have made a great offer. It's up to the Pelicans to decide if they want to risk waiting for Tatum or take what's right in front of them.

 

of course everyone will say boston's offer is better because of all their 1st round picks but let's be real

only the grizzlies pick will be high. the rest of those picks are mid to late 1st round

I own the domain IhateLebron.com and have been hating on him a LONG TIME. I will never own his jersey. If given one I’d toss it in the trash or give it away.

I only took the website down to try to be nice, but I can’t stand him. As for the youngins, I don’t compare them to others, but disappointed with their development alongside a ball dominant player like Lebron.

I think he’s a poor fit here, and we’d be better off trading him for Kawhi or AD IMHO.

grizz pick is what, top-8 protected this year. so it's probably 9-12 or deferred another year. i suppose that next one could be a good one, but it's top-6 protected next year. not unprotected until 2021. but yes, that's the jewel. but last year, the jewel was the sac pick. things can change in a hurry. and in the era of rampant tanking, simply not trying to lose usually gets you out of the top 5.

anyway, i don't see how their picks are that great. it's about tatum--who's not coming to them. and really, it's about teams colluding against a(nother) laker dynasty.

still can't figure out why they'd choose another C Bags dynasty instead...that's the part i can't wrap my head around.

I think part of the mindset is they believe the Lakers offer will be there this summer, and perhaps they can put the Lakers and C Bags in some sort of a bidding war, even though Magic has explicit stated he has no interest in doing that.

They think they have the crown jewel (which they kind of do), and believe it should go to the highest bidder. They don't want to rush the process (especially to help the Lakers) and don't mind dragging it out to see what offers they get. I don't necessarily agree with this strategy, but it's probably what the ownership is thinking.
