Woj just tweeted that Milwaukee is one of the teams on his list. Don’t see any way that gets done.

But yeah this is reminding me of PG. it was Lakers, Lakers, Lakers then “OKC isn’t so bad”. And then he was traded to OKC.

 

brogdon and middleton, 1st would be a nice return, but both are FAs this summer, which probably doesn't interest NO. no youth to speak of in mil, nor are their draft picks likely to be any good for a while.

houston has the same issue. capela and their 4 1sts will surely be offered, but their firsts aren't good and won't be if davis and harden are there for the next half decade.

the optimist in me (who is very tiny, btw) thinks all of this is setting up a clear rationale for why he goes to LA.

timing issue with ny.
can't reconcile desire for youth, picks, salary relief with davis's list of teams he'd sign with. except ny and la.

still don't see what they have to offer. their young players aren't good. their best player is set for free agency.

the only move that makes sense now is la. in the summer, ny has a shot at beating us out. and again, by then, his list may expand or otherwise transform.

 

So, Woj just basically ruled out the Bucks and Knicks; and what's left is the Lakers and Clippers? Don't we have the better assets than the Clips? Goodness. Just send his a** over here already...

 

So NY and Milwaukee cant do anything realistic about it and the cLips are in the same city as the 7.5m home he just bought.

I don’t see any of those other teams having the assets to pull off a trade. Including the Clippers.

 

This is what I'm saying; I'm thinking this is just going out there now to give the impression that NO exhausted all their resources and this is the best deal on the table for Davis presently.

These teams have the biggest trade piece. Its the fact that they aren’t the Lakers that make them attractive trade partners.

this offer was already there. this is just narrative construction at this point. face-saving for both NO (who's going to take a lot of heat if he goes to the lakers) and woj (for basically misrepresenting the facts for the past few days).
