    The New Orleans Pelicans has agreed to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and two first round picks, league source tells ESPN.

    Lakers In: Anthony Davis (25.5)
    Lakers Out: Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, KCP, Josh Hart, 2 first round picks, and 3 million cash (22.7)

    Suns get their point guard for one of their many swingmen, but take on an almost expiring contract since Lonzo is a superior player to Josh Jackson.
    Pelicans get 3 good young prospects, a couple first rounders, and clear up their cap.
    Lakers get AD and hang onto Ingram to flip in a later deal.

    Lakers sign Wesley Matthews off the waiver wire.

    McGee/Chandler
    AD/Wagner
    Lebron/Matthews
    Ingram/Hart
    Rondo/Lance

    Then this offseason we either do a sign and trade and send out Ingram for a max type player (Kyrie, Kawhi) or we keep Ingram and sign a guy like Middleton. That would move AD to center full time, but in the lineup above, we will likely be closing games with him there anyway. But the dream is obviously to flip Ingram for one of the K's (Kawhi, Kyrie, Klay, Kemba).

    It's not done yet. LeBron was drunk tweeting again, not much to see there. I'd imagine the Pelicans and Lakers have just started negotiations again, with the key component being are we taking back a bad contract and essentially forgoing our plans of signing a third "star" this offseason. The question of 1 versus 2 first rounders is probably a non issue for Magic, who's looking to make a splash right now.

    Actually let's pose that question. Would you take back a bad contract from the Pelicans if it meant getting Davis before the deadline?

    absolutely. if we need space, that contract can be moved. they're always moved. i'm also just fine operating without a max slot next summer if lebron and AD are in the fold.
