I’m a fan of trading Lebron while he still has value. Not a good fit or great move. The kids have been able to see how the Master prepares and learned many lessons. Now ship him to Toronto for Kawhi and assets because he’s locked in a 4 yr deal.

    Deviously brilliant

    Big ups DAR.

I don’t think this would have ever happened in LA, but good for him figuring it out and putting everything together.

D'Angelo Russell is the first #Nets All-Star since Joe Johnson in 2013-14. At just 22 years old, he's the second-youngest player in team history to earn an All-Star selection behind Buck Williams (who was younger in 1982 and 1983). #NBA

Happy for the kid, so much pressure gets put on high lottery picks, they get called busts if they have perfectly solid careers. Nice to see a #2 pick helping undo some of the bad history of #2 picks.

So he's officially an allstar and our best draft pick. Bummer we let him go.

really wish they would've dealt randle instead seeing how he wasn't in their long term plans

still think d-lo with lonzo would've been a successful duo

Yes to all the sentiments but there was a huge Russian we had to get rid of. Thank Kupcrap and do not hate on Magic for the trade

Russell likely doesn't develop into an all-star playing for LA (disregarding conference talent disparities). You can't discount the low pressure environment, coupled with playing for a coach renowned specifically for player development, as important factors. Also given the state of the team, he's allowed to lead the offense and shoot as much as he wants.

Furthermore, recall the struggles he experienced in his first 2 years in Brooklyn, along with the injuries. Our fanbase would be screaming for his head at that point. Being out of the spotlight in a team nobody cared about, while being allowed to chuck away with little repercussions, ultimately lead to his recent hot streak in January.

By the numbers, he's a volume scorer who can put up points on a mediocre team. But I'm not sure if he can play that way on a contending team, and definitely wouldn't work alongside someone like LeBron James.

Glad to see him succeed and hopefully he can keep it up. Still wouldn't trade Ingram or Ball for him.

I'm loving seeing the respect he's suddenly getting - and those who still can't bring themselves to say good things without a dig. Give in to your anger.

That wasn't supposed to be a dig, rather a compliment to the two No. 2 picks still on the roster. I consider it a compliment to say I wouldn't trade them for DLO, he's clearly turned the corner there.

I participate in this thread only to make trodgers feel better and because he’s a cool cat.

    :Fishwink: :Brows:

I’m not sure what stage of the grieving process he’s in, but this doesn’t feel healthy.
