Kyrie was downgraded to out tonight as well. Is Rozier getting showcased?

Even if Rozier is getting showcased....they still can't trade for AD right now.

Yeah I should clarify... he's a RFA this summer and can't realistically be part of a Boston package for Davis...but if they move him at the deadline, they got another piece.

rozier's numbers are all down from last year, advanced and regular. should have sold high is danny ainge's epitaph. would be so awesome if he didn't get to bid on davis after hoarding assets for years with that as the sole purpose.

Good point...a team like the Suns would probably be interested in Rozier...would hate for the C Bags to get yet another pick for Rozier...

Alternatively...they can't really afford to let go of Rozier because what if Kyrie leaves? They'll be left with marcus smart at point guard? LOL.

Bos recent turn around is actually due to Smart starting, he's been quite good for them.

dont know why anyone is surprised....maybe he's taking calls just not from us lol and I can't blame him....Demps has already been clowned on for yrs, especially by Stern who pretty much called him incompetent for the original CP3 trade.

Yeah. I've always kept this in mind and never really put that on them especially with Kawhi. I mean Pop is calling around to get other teams to not deal with us. No way he would trade with us. We got similar rumors about the Pacers along with fines on us then.

It is really beyond me that Silver doesn't step in on all of this. It's times like these when I really really really miss Dr. Buss and Jerry West.

I understand the new front office is facing what seems like an unprecedented amount of anti-Laker sentiment among the other franchises and will keep that in mind if the deal never happens.

But, I also feel like this is an opportunity for them to all really step up and show what they can do. Jeannie should be working Silver and the league. Maginka working with the Pelicans and personally heading to San Antonio if necessary to tell Pop to STFU and mind his own business.

I think that’s just a first offer. If they say no you offer more immediately. If you offer all 5 and they say no, you have nowhere else to go because you already offered all we have. Then you’d have to go find a 3rd team for sure. Maybe the Pels can’t take on 5 players so that’s us saying “have Zo, Kuz, and BI”. Also the “Demps not picking up his phone” report doesn’t bother me for some reason, mostly I guess because we don’t know if it’s accurate.

Demps not answering calls....don't know how legit that is. But it could just be, "i won't pick up unless you offer what i want." I am sure he's screening calls and having people leave messages. I do that all the time in my line of work if I don't want to "negotiate" any more ala...You know what i want and don't bother to call unless you are willing to accept my proposal. I am reading this as LAL made an opening offer that was short of where NOH wants and this not answering calls is Demps drawing a line in the sand.

Or working with the New Orleans Owner, Gayle. I mean: at least make the effort here, and they might be; we don't know what is going on specifically.
Nevertheless, we have heard nothing of the sort, yet.

This whole Lakers against the NBA is just silly; this is why I advocate working with GM's who take the emotion out of their job and keep it strictly business. It's getting harder and harder to find that, though.

This is the difference between the Lakers organization and a small market team.

You have prove to current players and future incoming free agents that you're willing to take care of them, even if it means letting them go.

It's a business, and should be treated as such. If you're going to go around, shunning every body, not taking calls, no ones going to take you seriously and you won't attract future stars to your team and players will want to leave if you're not doing your best to make them happy. Same goes for the players agents...cough...Mintz.

When the report of AD requesting the trade, I made the mistake of assuming other teams would do business like the Lakers and try to keep players and agents happy :Magicwow4:

Yes and no. You don't want unhappy players, but an unhappy starter and unhappy superstar present very different implications for the organization. The fact that everyone laughs off his dad helps. The fact that NO wants him and he'll have 3-5 friends/ current teammates and Randle there will definitely help. Shouldn't be a hard sell for them. It's not the market size he wants, but he'll get there.
