I feel like they can...they got so many good young players and a big expiring in Millsap...

Something like Millsap, Harris, Beasley and MPJ for AD? Maybe some future first round picks as well...

Negotiations should consist of Magic taking a napkin and writing down the names of everyone on the team except LeBron, telling the Pelicans to just circle the names of the guys they want and then we make it work.

 

I don't see that team going anywhere. Joker, AD, and Murray aren't enough to beat Houston, OKC, or GSW. On top of that, that team isn't getting any FAs. Who's going to Denver? Unless you're skiing, you don't go to Denver. That's a lot for an AD rental.

Not quite. There is the matter of Zu's contract. They will need a center too and Zu is showcasing his potential at a perfect time. In a mid-season trade, the Pelicans can get Zu on his rookie deal (1.5mil) which means we have to include Rondo or KCP in a deal for the money to work as (we know they like Rondo). Otherwise if NOP wait until summer getting Zu would require an S&T and there's no guarantee that will work. Trading now puts him on their books and gets him there, making a resign much more likely as he's playing with several of his friends already, who also came over in the trade not to mention Jules is there too. NOP will give him a good deal to resign, they dont have options. A package like Ball (or Kuz), Ingram, Hart, Zu and whatever picks we can give might be enough to get them to pull a trigger now.

It all depends on how vehemently Rich Paul conveys AD's unwillingness to resign anywhere but LA. PG going to OKC taught us a lesson there and Rich Paul can not be vague on this issue, he needs to say "Lakers or bust, AD hates Boston, can't stand the C Bags, Mark Wahlburg, The Patriots, Cheers, Matt Damon and WILL NOT resign".

So it seems that we were ready to trade BI and Zo in previous trades...just not Kuz.

I dont see Knicks offering anything worth while right now, they probably want to pair Kp with AD and unload the likes of Hardaway Jr into the pkg., a terrible contract to anchor a team like Pelicans. Only thing appealing about them is the potential to land #1 pick but if AD is traded there and plays the season that pick wont be #1 imo.

 

makes perfect sense that NO will wait to see who gets the #1 pick

but then again, AD is not going to want to go to a place like atlanta or phoenix. the knicks would be the only team that could get the #1 pick and still be a potential landing spot for AD but i can't see him ending up there

 

yea I'm sure theres plenty of teams lining up to HELP Lakers land AD

 

I'm just hoping we can structure something and hold onto at least a few young guys.

out of ZO, BI, Kuz, and hart I hope we can keep at least one of them because im sure we will be losing at least 2(if not all) in the trade.

At least that is vibe I am getting from all the reports.
