he struggled with boban's size, which makes sense. he seemed to learn from it as the game wore on. luke tried to stagger the rotations a bit for that reason, but couldn't quite get it right. zu's been playing pretty well, and i'm glad for him. i'm not sure he's shown enough to sit chandler, though. the team just doesn't really want to play a style that suits zu. it's similar to ingram: there are systems that work well for guys with these talents, but it's not our preferred system. all that said, i would like to see him get some run with the regulars at some point this year, if only to get a clear sense of what we have.
Cool compliments by McGee of Zu. He had plenty of his own doubters, so it's very cool he's staying in Zu's ear. While Zubac was in the midst of providing back-to-back impressive starts, he lent credit to teammates for remaining confident in him, and specifically named motivation and leadership provided by McGee. “It’s been amazing,” McGee said of Zubac’s recent stretch. “I’ve been on him since the beginning of the season, when everyone doubted him, saying he wasn’t able to play, he wasn’t ready. I’ve been in his ear constantly, like, ‘You’re a beast. I know what you can do.’ “I can just see it in him. The thing about it is, from a personal standpoint and being a big man, it’s confidence over anything. When somebody is telling you you ain’t [expletive] for years, you’re going to believe you ain’t [expletive]. If somebody is behind you and telling you you’re great, you’re going to play like it.”
i love this part bout mcgee, if theres anyone that can relate to zu utd have to be mcgee from all those yrs he got clowned on
It's very clear that Zu has benefitted from veteran leadership of McGee and Chandler...because both McGee and Chandler are walking the walk and talking the talk..unless stupid a** Mozgov who provided nothing for us
I wonder how Thomas Bryant might have grown under these two guys as well Too bad the kid wasn't 7' or we'd likely have kept him. I think the FO was fixated on actual 7 footers, but that's just my interpretation. As it is, we do have 3 solid 7'ers now though, and that's pretty freaking impressive seeing where we've come from.
should've seen Mozgov presser when he got traded to Nets, talking bout new oppoturnity to start fresh again....I think it didn't even take 10games or so into that season before he started getting DNP's lol
Athletes are always the last ones to know. Enes Kanter can't understand why he isn't playing, and he's ranked 60 out of 61 centers defensively. You'd think he'd kind of understand that a little bit.
Never doubt the Croat :-D Monster game and even more impresive it was against adams... I hope he continues this way,he might finish as our best trade bait ( dont trade him)
That was a strong game to finish from Zu. He was hedging on defense, boxing out, and was a force in the middle offensively. Loved that last play with the pass finding BI cutting for the dagger dunk.
Zu was killing it tonight. Honestly, I'd put him in the starting lineup until Lebron gets back. He gives us so much life offensively in the half court, and he can run the floor.
