Kuzma's shot looks great, just doesn't go in as often as it needs to. Its puzzeling. Lonzo's shot looks broken. Might go in more often than Kuzma's this year but overall I would feel more comfortable with a good looking shot than a bad looking shot. Eventually, the good shot should prevail. But there is no denying. Kuzma has been awful from 3 and Lonzo has made more of them. Numbers don't lie.
Some interesting splits Lonzo 3P% October: .410 November: .265 December: .306 January: .371 Kuzma 3P% October: .298 November: .299 December: .311 January: .265 Lonzo is trending upwards. Most of his 3's are taken when he's open, which I can't be mad about. Kuzma is the definition of a streaky scorer and overall he's been piss poor from 3 all year. I'm not sure why he gets the green light to jack up those terrible shots.
What do these labels mean? Top 10 rebounder how? Per minute? Per game? Per rebound opportunity? Same with passing. Same with defending. I don’t know of anyone who would put him top 10 defender in the nba or any stat that would show it either. I’m sorry, but that’s at best misleading. It’s at worst pathetic.
Starting to get the feel for being more comfortable going to the rack with his speed and athleticism .... more often. By next year if he stays healthy enough to have an off season look for a lot more of the short range stuff to drop at better %. Maybe even later this year ..... IF can stay healthy.
I really put a lot of trust into what Pete (Lakers Film Room) says; he was high on Russell much like us, and has been accurate with his assessment so far. He is very high on Zo. So, if anything that and along with what I have seen gives me hope that he can turn into a good player in the future. Hoping so...
Love his defense and strength on that end (#RondoEffect?) So the next thing to work on is his offense. Obviously the majority has already said it...deconstruct his shooting mechanics please!
