Russ is a good fit next to lebron, imo. Scoring guards have done well with him, historically--especially if they can catch and shoot.

But that's pure fantasy at this point.

...must be some kind of website glitch. No way Russell is having a productive game.

The potential was always there. The advanced stats showed it over and over again. I said back then that we sold way low and still feel the same way.

I don't know if he would have been as successful here; we didn't have the staff to develop him nor the patience. Glad he's succeeding. This hurts, though.

Yeah. We never committed to truly teaching and growing young players. It's what makes the fact that we aren't willing to trade them for veterans even more maddening.

I see the same thing happening if we trade Kuzma by the way. He'll blow up elsewhere.

    I think we'll keep him...unless it's an AD deal.

I'm concerned about our ability to land AD. Kinda feel like we needed to make a deal for someone like Beal to be able to put together a good enough package for him. We'll see. I do think Magic has got something in his back pocket.

We'll see on AD; my point Lakes aren't getting rid of Kuzma unless they have a chance to get AD.

    They'll trade BI before him...IMO.

    “Nets grades: A+

    34 PTS, 13-26 FG, 7-13 3PT, 5 REB, 7 AST, 5 TO

More often than not recently, D’Angelo Russell has acted as the guiding light the Nets desperately needs. Not only was Russell performing as Brooklyn’s best player, but it was also such a major upgrade on the disappointing outing last week versus Boston.

While his 15 first-half points were brilliant, his third quarter was absolutely miraculous. Chucking from all over the floor with reckless abandon, Russell was a cold-blooded killer. A Nets’ one-point lead exploded to a 24-point margin when all was said and done — that alone was thanks to Russell.

There were other players in the game, it bears repeating, of course, but it barely mattered. When he plays like this, Russell looks like a bonafide future All-Star, end of discussion.“
