Plays little defense (at least as reported thru the Lithuania stint) and is a chucker with a not great release built in too. Not as weird as Lonzo's but he releases it low in front of his face.

Do not want LaMelo...from what I have seen he can't do much except shooting, which he does in high volumes and low percentages.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We can't bite again on the Lavar hype machine.

i mean, if the kid wants to forego the draft somehow, gets a camp invite, and does well, i'll take him.

we haven't heard jack from lavar in a while now, so i'm not as worried about that. honestly, he would have been a bigger problem if lonzo had had doncic-like impact, because then lavar would be all up in our business. he's had to slink away a bit with lonzo's struggles and his other issues.

so, hey, if lamelo can ball, bring him in.

from what i've seen, he's not that great, though, so it's probably moot.

I have a feeling someone from the organization got to LaVar to S him TFU. Fear of what happens if he doesn't or some carrot dangled in front. Not in his DNA to do that and not blame Luke publicly this year or the organization for Zo's struggles in areas of his game.

Good to know then, probably main reason then that he's only gotten 1 div 1 school offer, thought it was mostly due to pops but obviously his gm hasn't grown much then. The HS team he's on now has 2 high lvl recruit (1 5star and 1 4star), Melo isn't on any hs rating anymore

    He's taking 4.6 threes a game.

I'm with the person here who noted he just walks up and chucks them like Rodman and like he doesn't give a ****. Get some slowed down same way every time calming mechanics going for crissakes.

That's shocking that he's shooting better from 3 than all of thsoe guys but all of those guys percentages will continue to go up as the year goes on and also, all of those guys shoot ft's like 40% better than Zo so there's that....

Sign of a good shooter to me is how well they shoot free throws...Zo is not a good shooter no matter what way you try and spin it

Lonzo with LaVar on the Melo hype train. Kid at least has really grown some it seems and cut the stooopid looking hair. Note where the release on his J comes from .... low. Maybe it won't matter with his height and if he keeps developing the handles and offensive skills. The defense, so far has been another story.

2nd look reveals he was just retweeting someone else's. Nothing wrong with a big brother doing that.

Free throws % shows two things 1. how consistent you are in your shooting mechanics and 2 how proper those mechanics are. With that being said ZO has none of those things and needs a shooting coach to tweaks his error in his free throws and get him dialed in consistently from the stripe and in his jumpshot. I remember last year when he came off injury he was shooting like 50% from three capped off by that 6/10 showcase versus the spurs.

Overall, his shooting needs more emphasis on wrist and feet spacing and landing. Then when you look at free throws he should prolly turn his body more and this will help him shoot on his toes and not flat footed how he does now. I think for Zo to shoot in the 40% range like he did in college is obtainable in the NBA but because the game is faster than college his inconsistent mechanics get compromised. That same can be said about the fact that he doesn’t finish well going right. Most of the time he’s jumping off the wrong foot because he’s running too fast. That’s why on the occasions that you see him take a midrange off dribble he can drain it because he takes his time...

first play of the game last night was lonzo in a nutshell. gets to the middle of the paint off a ball screen and has a 8-10 ft floater wide open, but jump-passes backward to a covered javale mcgee for the contested 14-footer.

    mental block.

Zo's 3pt% is higher because teams leave him wide open. That's bad for spacing.

Kuz is shooting 33% from three when left wide open. It’s the 6th worst in the league. Not making excuses for Zo but he is shooting better from 3 then Kuz overall.

He is trying to stay within his game and be efficient and I can admire that. However if you have to expand your game to make 8 to 10 footers, that’s kind of sad.

"Expand your game to 8ft, please. Maybe hit some free throws too".

    Ouch man.
