Chippy response? Did I say something outrageous? (actually just read your more expansive response above that). Which was fine. Just saying maybe he's busting his a** more this year than ever since it's a contract year. Players get accused of that all the time. I haven't seen him play much since he left and liked him fine as a baller when he was here.

Was really just mentioning it plus was saying it's possible as well that Lonzo by year 4 is up 95% in all the indicators too by year 4. Or not. But he's acknowledged as an excellent team defender and so so on the ball but most everyone would say better than DAR. Was just making conversation. You seemed to be comparing 4 years in DAR to 2 years in Ball who also lost a sizable amount of games his rookie year and all summer virtually this year to really be able to work on his game.

I don’t know if it’s chippy, but it is frustrating when people make assertions with no evidence and don’t read the evidence that disconfirms their suggestions. Not saying you have done that. I’m so many have about DAR i can’t jewp it straight.

I’m not comparing the two, just so we are clear. I don’t watch LA, and I don’t even look at their boxes.

    Btw, from RealGM:

Wow. I wouldn’t have guessed that.

I guess he’s paying off score keepers too.

appreciate it :) I do post in the Raiders thread too :)

I’m spending less time on sports, and that’s freeing up some time for things I’ve wanted to pursue for a long time. So, in my view, it’s a good thing.

Oooooooooops. Scratch the "any". Hells to the NO.

Only time I ever kind of liked them was waay back in the day when they had a bunch of cool young players when Lamar was drafted by them, and I was too young to know better.

I’m glad the kid is doing well, it’s got to be hard to come in as a 19 year old being the #2 pick for the Lakers, crazy pressure. It’s nice to see he’s finding his role on a team and looking comfortable. There’s very few players in this league I don’t root for to do well (2 of those are the flopping a**holes in Houston), so of course I want all our former kids to do well. You never know down the line which of them could find their way back to LA either.

    12-6-5. In the first quarter.

Nets got blown out, so he played 27 minutes but filled it up: 24-9-6.

    That’s 20 20-point games this season.

    From Brooklyn Game.com:

    “A+ grade

    24 PTS, 10-19 FG, 2-5 3PT, 6 REB, 9 AST, 1 STL, 2 TO, 27 MIN

D’Angelo Russell continues to grow both as a scorer and a playmaker for the Nets.

Tonight was no different, Russell was excellent, scoring efficiently and dishing out nine dimes.

Despite another fantastic performance for the 22-year-old, the rest of the Nets struggled on both ends of the floor. In order for Brooklyn to win, Russell is going to need help from his fellow starters, who put up 25 combined points.“

Right now I think so, but I bet many on this site would disagree.

overall impact seems similar right now (i think advanced stats agree in general). we'll see how things unfold. maybe lonzo can help us dump our next contractual error.

It’s complicated, I think. In offensive metrics, Russell destroys him. In defensive metrics, Ball beats him sometimes pretty badly. But the gap is smaller on D and those stats often have too much noise for my likes. I’d say that summarize advanced metrics have Russell about 10% better.

The crazy thing is: how good would he be if he were playing with a Superstar? I kind of lost hope in him in Los Angeles, admittedly. I'm glad he ended up in a better situation, but I'm very bitter he just never seemed to get a real shot under Scott or the organization for that matter.

4th year in, and I'm really hoping our guys can show this much promise y that time, but we'll see...

I think it depends on the superstar. James is one who helps some and hurts others. Kobe really helped certain types - like scrubs who had career years with him, but I can't say that his style of play was good mentally for some (like Shaq and Pau). I think Russ would be wasted next to super high USG players like Westbrook or Harden, but at least Harden would knock down shots.
