He showed either great self-confidence to continue shooting last night on his way to a 4-20 night, or he's completely clueless. I think it's the former, and I'm ok with him not backing down or shying away. Sometimes you have those nights.
The way I see it, since Lebron went down Ingram has been our most consistent player on both ends. Even playing with Lebron though, he rarely has a stinker, and he contributes with his steady defense and play-making. I think his length on the defensive end is vastly underrated. He disrupts the passing lanes and he alters shots even as an help defender. His below-average shooting is his glaring weakness, but he's got good mechanics and it's only a matter of time before his shots start falling. Kuzma is a volume scorer and by far the more streakier player. He's had 13 games where he's jacked up anywhere from 0-7 to 2-10 (less than 20%) from the 3pt line. And there are only 11 games where he's shot over .400 from 3. As a primary ball-handler, he turns the ball over at an alarming rate, and as the games slows down (4th quarter) so does his effectiveness. By definition that makes him more of a scoring-punch-off-of-the-bench type (6th man) scorer. And I hate to bring up the obvious, but Kuzma is 23 and Ingram is 21. There's a reason why the latter was drafted #2. Ingram has the higher upside by default, and honestly, I could care less who was labeled untouchable or who wasn't. The main advantage Kuzma has over Ingram is his fit with Lebron on offense, but the downside is that he allows just as many points as he scores. Having said that, I'd like to keep both if possible. They both have their flaws, but at 21/23 years they're both already an above average starter in this league. They bring positive things that help the team win, and it shows in the +/- stats when they are on the floor.
It’s like you’re not even watching the games He’s actually done a pretty solid job on drives of finding guys for baskets. He’s been a willing passer.
Right. Because 2 assists negate the gajillion ISOs he did in the last month. It's like YOU are not watching the game.
Yep. And I keep saying he's just second year. Imagine Kuz in his eighth year, or tenth. I'm convinced he's going to be an allstar.
Holy **** just seeing his Stat line now. Can't wait to see this game and Dallas as well on time shift.
