there was still overdribbling and bad midrange attempts, but there was a lot more decisiveness and attempts at the rim. i'll take it.

 

A lot of easy baskets when he just caught and go. I hope he watches film from the game and notices it. Its hard for the defender especially with his length.

as difficult of a question to answer w/o bias/homerism, would any one trade Ingram for better fitting but less potential/talent for say like a Robert Covington?

 

i'm not sure i disagree, but i could see the argument that ingram may not ever be as good as covington, and he's locked into a reasonable contract for his prime years.

the fact that it's reasonable discussion is pretty sad, though.

 

I realize its a fair value in terms of fit but reading on realgm, you'd think Covington is the difference between us contending and just playoff fodders. I know fit makes big difference but not to the pt of swapping a 21yr old for a 28yr old.

well the non laker fans typical response is that ingram isnt a good fit n his value will decrease playing next to james. fair assessment but they dont realize how itd look to trade a #2 pick for a role player regardless of how great a role he plays....its not like ingram is a complete bust

 

^ Good points but I'm not sure Simmons is a franchise changer. He can't make a jump shot to save his life. His non-shooting is MUCH worse than Lonzo, or maybe even Fultz. In the playoffs he was so bad he couldn't even stay on the floor. I'll take Brandon over him.

 

It was only a matter of time before Brandon found his groove. His ball handling was impressive and his passing was great. I expect him to keep improving as a scorer and play maker until Lebron comes back.

 

I feel like Randle is the case of people getting hyped over his amazing offensive numbers. His defense has regressed a lot and he's a big part why the Pelicans have been very mediocre defensively (26th in the league in terms of defensive rating).

 

Sounds like you have seen a number of his games this year. What's his defense like these days? Last year it was impressive that he had the speed to switch and stay with guards and also the strength to body up bigs. But equally made me crazy because he was too lazy or stupid to put his f****** hands up while staring at his opponent. I mean how hard is it to figure out that your hands shouldn't be down on defense, and how hard is it to keep them up? Julius tried to Jedi mind trick them into thinking they better not shoot from that position in directly in front of him waaaay too much during his years with the Lakers.
