Looks like he's indirectly talking about BI here:

    Should've benched him then.

I’m a LeBron fan first and foremost but I’m from the Bay Area and have a bunch of friends that are Laker fans so I’ve watched a decent amount of games over the past few years. I’ve never been too impressed with BI but chalked it up to me probably catching him on his bad games, but after watching every game this year I’ve realized that he’s just not a very good player...yet at least.

I still feel like he has a lot of potential, probably not to be an all star or anything, but to be a solid player. It seems like he’s been pumped up by the organization too much to be this great scorer so his approach to the game is totally off. From my admittedly limited experience watching him, I don’t see anything that would lead me to believe his game would be that of a “natural scorer.”

From what I’ve seen, Kuzma is that guy. He has the feel to just get buckets in all different kinds of ways, not just iso midrange fade-aways like BI. Bi should be more of an all around type of guy that rebounds, plays good defense, and gets buckets from cuts and the occasional iso when it’s needed. I think if he changes his approach to the game, the team would be way better off.

Is BI reluctant to get in the weight room or has Lakers management never made it a point to get him stronger?

I get that there were Durant comparisons but their games are totally different. I can see why KD wouldn’t want to bulk up because it could mess with his shot but BI doesn’t have much to mess up.

Look how skinny Giannis was when he came into the league and how much he’s bulked up. Now he’s 10x the player he was before. If BI is still here this offseason they need to get him working hard in the gym.

His problem apart from the ISO/pound the ball, which I think someone here pointed out, is that, he always seems indecisive by a second or so when doing anything.

So whether it's a jump shot/drive he always has a slight hesitation before making his move, which hinders him imo.

I totally agree. That seems to be the problem for most iso/pound the ball guys and guys that get labeled “black holes.” It’s almost like they’re wired to catch the ball and stop to think about what to do next which messes up the flow of the offense and helps the defense get set.

You have to be a special player to get away with it. Carmelo compared to LeBron is a great example. They both have a tendency to get the ball and take a lot of time to survey their surroundings before they make a move. The difference is LeBron can get away with it because he flat out reads the game better than Melo and most others. It’s like he sees the floor and quickly goes over all of the possible outcomes before he acts. Once he does make a move, depending on what the defense is he has counters in his mind.

BI doesn’t have that ability and probably never will do so like you said he needs to be more decisive and act quickly to be effective. What he’s doing isn’t working.

Needs to be locked in a room with footage of young kirilenko to help reprogram the catastrophic patterning of his game after Paul George types.

Part of Brandon’s developmental problem stemmed from working all summer with Micah Lancaster and all the pound the ball, grab a cone, tackling dummy, mop, broom, umbrella and chair on the way to the basket. I admit it even fooled me watching the highlights over the summer and seeing the success of Oladipo working with Lancaster the previous season. What I didn't take into account was: 1) besides LBJ, Iso ball isn’t needed in our scheme, and 2) Oladipo can get away with it because he is far and away Indiana’s primary ball dominant player.

Ingram desperately needs a legitimate face up game to go along with his drives to the basket. That, along with really dedicating to being a premier perimeter defender will go a long way towards his future sucesss. I’m still holding out hope for the kid, although my heart sinks watching his downward spiral.

Decisive is the key adverb for BI. He must be decisive in everything he does.

Hope he decides to eat more. I think he’s losing weight.
