Disagree with your assessment. I think BI's best future self is more along the model of Pippen than Kobe. A couple of games ago BI had a great game in Pippen mode. Last game he stunk the place up in the 4th trying to go Kobe mode. He has playmaking ability. The idea is not PG but playmaking forward.

looking around this board, BI is trash and Zo will be out of the league in a few years if he doesn't fix his shot. So with Bron, Rondo, and possibly Kuz out, and given the aforementioned comment sentiment about BI/ZO, how much better are we really than the Knicks? According to most they're garbage and should be shipped out, so if that's the case then it's pretty easy to excuse a loss to the Knicks.

Being able to rack 9 assists doesn't indicate playmaking abilities...

In this specific instance Ingram just had the ball. A LOT. The very next game he had his head so far up his a** he couldn't see anyone. It was all ISO, baby...

In 3 seasons I haven't seen, outside of like probably a month 2 years ago, anything that would indicate he would become a playmaker. Even that month was more of assists racking, than actually running/making plays.

For the record, I consider Russel Westbrook a lousy playmaker.

I'm a bit perplexed at your response. So, the only reason Ingram had 9 assists is that "he just had the ball. A LOT." You do realize that you could put the ball in the hands of most NBA players A LOT and they would never end up with 9 assists in a game. And that 9 should have been something like 14-15 that game. BI made that many good set up passes, and had some really bad shooting teammates. The fact that he did sustain some solid playmaking for a month is the proof that he has that ability if he would just focus on it.

I agree that the next game was all ISO. I made that exact point. I'm saying he is confused and conflicted in how to play, but that he SHOULD be aiming for mimicking Pippin rather than an ISO gunner.

I remember watching BI at Duke and the guy played well within the confines of the offense. I don't think anyone thought this kid had a scorer's mentality coming out of school. That's been driven into his brain so much by management here that it's difficult to find that balance. Everything is a half second late as he has the internal struggle to be a scorer or just play basketball. I think they should stop forcing the offense to run through him and let things happen naturally.

I brought up Westbrook to make my point about assists. I thought it was clear.

Westbrook, last season, averaged double digits in assists. He is a horrible playmaker, he just has the ball in his hands A LOT.

I am betting that if you give a lot of the NBA players 35 minutes a game and a usage rate at around 27% (or whatever Westbrook averaged), they would get a lot of assists. Doesn't mean they are playmaking.

Playmaking is much much more. Knowing the hot hand. Tendencies, both of your teammates and opponents. Matchups. Opposing schemes.

We oversimplify a lot of to a digestible simple number, perhaps adding some "newfangled" assist/turnover ratio for good measure.

Zo is a lot of the above. Rondo is all of the above. BI is none.

    Knee jerk reaction? Maybe

    But Luke has to go.

If he can't see Ingram at the point is ridiculous... I mean, c'mon, this is KrAzY.

    unwatchable basketball

either Luke is really bad, or our players are given things way beyond their capabilities, and somebody isn't adjusting

even if we win, it's ugly basketball.

    Another 4th quarter meltdown.

Another game in which we deviate from what was working before. We should've pounded into our 5's in the 4th.

A thing i've noticed with a few of our losses, is that at the very beginning of games, like the first few minutes, the opponent will go on 5-0 run and instead of calling timeout there to stem the run, he waits until it balloons to a 10 point deficit before calling the first timeout. I don't know, might be nitpicking, but it does bother me that he doesn't call timeouts sooner in general.
