I thought that had already been reported and why he had to be in the hospital a couple of days last weekend? Not new news?
Yeah he had pneumonia. He's been cleared by doctors, but they're giving him additional time since pneumonia takes a lot out of you. No need to rush with the way Zu has been playing though.
Cool stuff by McGee While Zubac was in the midst of providing back-to-back impressive starts, he lent credit to teammates for remaining confident in him, and specifically named motivation and leadership provided by McGee. “It’s been amazing,” McGee said of Zubac’s recent stretch. “I’ve been on him since the beginning of the season, when everyone doubted him, saying he wasn’t able to play, he wasn’t ready. I’ve been in his ear constantly, like, ‘You’re a beast. I know what you can do.’ “I can just see it in him. The thing about it is, from a personal standpoint and being a big man, it’s confidence over anything. When somebody is telling you you ain’t [expletive] for years, you’re going to believe you ain’t [expletive]. If somebody is behind you and telling you you’re great, you’re going to play like it.”
Probably the best contract in Lakers' history. I hope he is a Laker for life now. I'd also keep him on as our Big Man development coach when he retires.
He's definitely getting closer to 100% healthy and getting his wind back. Having he and Chandler rested for after the break will be huge if we move Zu.
^I think he played above his head earlier in the season. The current McGee is much closer to his career path than the early season near all-star McGee who blocked 3+ shots a game. That McGee was aweeeesssoooommmeeee.. But it was clear that he won't go from meh to all-star within a few months at 30 years of age.
Nice energy from McGee tonight. Only Laker to show up. Being the only one to play who isn't on the block (except bron) probably is a factor
