It's happening fam... And I see so little risk in it that I'm appalled so many of you are adamantly against it.

It wouldn't even be "the" move. It would most likely be a follow up move to "the" move once we figure out a new home for Kcp. It would be a move to shore up our roster.

You take that as a defense to MDA? You’re taking leaps at a whole new level.

Well I've been working on my vertical...so thx for noticing!

Melo is a good free throw shooter.
Can provide up to 6 hard/smash level fouls.
Can provide scoring for a bench that badly needs it.
Can provide spot minutes at the 4/5 so Bron doesn't have to do it.
Would cost us 1.5m and still allow us the ability to waive him.

Y'all stay pessimistic doe and keep pointing to how Hornacek, Donovan and f***ing MDA handled bruh...

    Talk about leaps of faith!?!...yikes

Add George Karl, Phil Jackson, and Jeff Bzdelik to that list at least, or coaches or people in charge who got sick of Melo and his selfishness and unwillingness to play defense, no thanks. Jabari Parker seems to be the new Melo in that regard too, just wayyy earlier, attitude matters.

You got guys like TC, Bron and alot more vets saying Melo doesn't have a bad attitude.

When you're young, you act dumb. Who hasn't acted poorly when they were younger?

Phil was an exec...Karl is decent, but s***, he's not no gold standard in how to manage players. Bzedlick is a defensive coach, so of course he's going to not favor Melo.

He's not even coming in to be some defensive dynamo for us. He's clearly willing to come off the bench now and he'd give us some scoring from there along with a small ball option so Bron/Kuz don't have to do it. Plus he improves our free throw shooting at the very least with Kcp heading out.

    Low. Risk.
    No. Commitment.
    Player. Relation.
    Agent. Relation.
    Wtf? Lakers Nation.

Anyways, it's not worth the energy...I just don't get y'all sometimes haha.

I second that. He provides very little with too much potential baggage.

    1) Will he come off the bench?

    2) Will he take vet min?

If so, sign him up and waive Beasley, who's been attending to personal family issues all season, and rightfully so.

If it doesn't work out, we waive Melo. If it does, he'll give us more than Beasley is right now.

i don't think melo has an attitude problem in that he's cancerous or something. he just has an opinion of his game that doesn't line up with reality. it was ironic that iverson came to his defense recently, because it was his problem, too. he could have played another few years if he accepted that he was no longer allen iverson, but he couldn't. kobe really didn't, either. some guys just aren't wired for it, and anthony's one of them.

i think there are some teams he can help still, but only if he accepts a limited role and is surrounded by great defenders at all times. we don't have the latter to offer, so i'd pass on him. he should go to gs, tbh.

Ehhh. I just feel like this is going to happen so I'm trying to warm up to it.

    I don't see the fit.

If we end up trading 2 for 1 and have an open roster spot, you may be right. He could being a tremendous high value/low risk proposition or a total disaster.

Only one way to find out! Are we willing to take it?

Melo should have retired after OKC. He's done. Has nothing to do with him being a cancer or anything. He can not play anymore. Retire and you are in the hall of fame in 5 years with Dwayne Wade. Had a good career. Embrace the closure.

I don't think he can't play any more, he's still a capable scorer. It's just that his style of ball domination to do so is not a good fit on most winning teams. He's not starting material any more for sure. He could be a good 6th man scoring punch, but I don't see it here.

Melo instead of Beasley would not make us worse, that’s for sure. I agree with posters who said that Anthony is not a bad guy, he just needs to realize he is not a starter anymore. Other than that... he can score some, he has enough post game toplay small ball 5... and he shoots FTs better than anyone not named Pope. I would not get excited if we sign him, but it would not be horrible either. He costs nothing and is friends with Bron. Whatever. Maybe a miracle can happen and he becomes Chandler, playing his role perfectly. Maybe.
