Interesting, especially considering LeBron's mouthpiece just wrote an article about how LeBron is looking like himself again lately because he has the ball more with Rondo out and such. Can’t have it both ways, either LeBron needs to play LeBron ball or he needs to change his game. I think he clearly needs LeBron ball, as he looked horrible to start the year trying to play off the ball and in the post. He has no post game to speak of and he looked totally lost without the ball in his hands for a majority of the time. LeBron is who he is 16 years in, it looks silly that we tried to change that this late, he will clearly continue to be most effective with a high usage rate or however you want to put it.
Its not a fit issue to me, 3yrs in and we still have the same complaints...rotations and no obvious plays being consistently ran. Its either fast break pts or stagnant half court O with a lot of ISO's. Our identity on O is suppose to be a team that plays fast but once teams force them to slow down its ALL downhill.
But what exactly does "Bron ball" look like? If you look at his USG%: Miami 2010/11 - Wade 30.7, Bron 30.6 2011/12 - Bron 31, Wade 30.4 2012/13 - Bron 29.3, Wade 28.6 2013/14 - Bron 30.3, Wade 27 Cleveland 2014/15 - Bron 32.6, Ky 25.4 2015/16 - Bron 30.4, Ky 28.3 2016/17 - Ky 29.4, Bron 29 2017/18 - Bron 30.8, Clarkson 25.1 LA 2018/19 - Bron 30.4, BI 22.1, Kuz 21.8 Last 6 games w/o 'Do - Bron 34, Kuz 22.3, BI 21.5 As you can see, Bron had consistently hovered around 30% in usage (only outliers being his 1st season in the return to the Land and his last 6 games here). If anything, Bron needs the ball out of his hands till 'Do gets back and either Zo, BI or Kuz need to be that 2nd guy consistently for Bron.
With this current roster it looks like it did with Cleveland’s roster last year, bad. It’s ugly, it’s not fun to watch, it’s slow and plodding, and if players don’t move and cut it looks like LeBron dribbling a lot and then making a play after he runs out of time. It also looks like missing 30 threes because we don’t have shooters.
What are our offensive rating in these latest 6 games with Bron on the floor and without him though ? There is no 2nd option , little shooting AND no pick and pop big on the roster to ease Lebron and especially BI drives to the cup . I mainly blame Maginka . However I agree Zo and BI should take more responsabilities and push the tempo up in Rondo absence. Don't defer to Bron so much
That "5th-worst offense" sure looks like it's being implied it's on TC, but we know it shouldn't be, right?
I'll have more respect for him when he benches Lebron after multiple TO's to start a game. But the reality is we are improving, and we're winning. We're only a couple of games out of first, and probably built for the playoffs.
I like it...but have that same leash for the vets who are not playing well when thrown into the game (stephenson, rondo, kcp). Don't just apply it to the young guys...gotta hold everybody accountable
Lakers had there All Access Event last night, so naturally a lot of insight and quotes came out of it.
They won't give up, they are relentless and there is no turning back for them. Nothing good will ever be enough.
