he won't fetch big bucks on the open market if his play levels off here. plus, we have a lot of control of his rights for a while. as long as we don't screw it up a la randle.
I really don't understand this narrative. Trading Jules for draft picks and/or team friendly assets (to keep the 2max capspace alive) was the play instead of losing him for nothing...but what was the market for him? That was the proposed trade from the team that has him now (ie the team that valued him). Also after renouncing Jules, the market still had about 5 teams with real cap space, yet dude essentially got a 1yr MLE deal from the team that "valued him". He was proposed as an asset to Indy for Paula, but they never dealt for him nor fellow Mintz client DLo...I wonder why? Remember, if we trade him tho, then no possiblity of keeping him on a blimped 2019 cap holder deal... no possibility of holding onto his bird rights and extending him once we lock up our 2019 max player... Also no possibility of doing any of that if his representation wants something else and isn't willing to break bread with us at the table. Now consider that he's played all but 4 games this season with AD and yet his advanced metrics are piss poor (bottom 10 in defensive rating league wide along with a -3.2 net rating)...but them double doubles tho?...how about no! He woulda been a nice piece next to 2max guys. He woulda been a nice SmashBro on a 1yr deal before we locked up that 2nd max player. He woulda been a nice asset to deal if he truly wasn't willing to stay. But let's not act like his representation was cooperative and willing to go along during this process. This narrative that we screwed up/over dude in a contract year needs to die. What a tired discussion its become. #Randull
Wrong! Lol Indy didn't want DLo, which is why he was traded along with Moz for BLo/27th Paula: 19.5m (14.5m minimum needed in outgoing salary) Clarkson/Jules: just north of 16m aggregated. EASY, right? Not so easy.... Removing Clarkson and flipping newly acquired BLo along with Jules could have also worked trade wise for PG+min contract...but Indy didn't value either of them. Indy had cap this past summer and didn't offer it to BLo or Jules. But you still think we can force a trade on people??? #Duhhh
Enough with the Randle and PG type talk in here, those ships sailed. We have a new team, and it doesn't include those guys. Get over it folks, you're beating a dead horse.
Kuz has been solid offensively even though the 3 ball is gone for good it seems. But I miss the effort on defense and on the boards. He needs to develop a dog in his game which he doesn't have at all.
Honestly thought he was one of the few bright spots out there tonight. Three wasn’t dropping but he hit several shots that kept us in it for a stretch. His poor three point shooting is dragging down his advanced stats on offense but overall he’s not doing as bad as some of seem to think. I’d like to see the rebounds go up but I’d say that of the whole team last night (3 point shooting too)
Luke said in his practice presser that during the game yesterday Kuzma also turned his ankle a little bit so they are nursing that and monitoring that as well.
Wait, wait, wait, they were willing to give us their 1st round pick and Asik for Clarkson? Why didn’t we do that? It’s a pretty solid trade, especially is Mozgov or Deng were attached.
Stats are pretty clear that Ingram plays worse with LeBron. If anyone got swapped out with Hart it would probably be him.
I don't know EtG...I think the "BI can't be Bron's Pip" narrative is being overblown somewhat cause of the limited sample size. If you look at those stats, BI and Bron in the same lineup has overall been a net positive. The thing that definitively stands out is that Bron at small ball 5 doesn't work (-24.6).... And that gimmick needs to die, before Bron does.
It needs to happen sooner than later. Not sure why our best shooter and defender is on the bench. Hart is everything we need in our starting lineup. Kuzma is a liability on D and no longer spaces the floor on O. Please bench this dude. Hart DRPM: 11th best SG in the league Kuzma DRPM: 2nd worst PF in the league Hart 3P%: 39.1% Kuzma 3P%: 29.4% It feels like we're taking crazy pills. This isn't rocket science Luke.
