Nah... I think it is skewed somewhat by his stint @ C?

Kuz pulled 8 rebounds. That’s a perfect number for him. He’s never going to be a board beast, but 8 will get it done.

And... it was not a usual high-scoring game.. so it's even more impressive.

18/8 I'd be happy with for year 2 Kuzma, but I think he wants more.

He probably wants more but I would take 18/8. I don't think he will get 8 rebounds though, he doesn't seem to fill up the stat sheet except for scoring. 18 points will be easily achievable for him IMO. He might even get closer to 20.

He usually gets his 4-7 rebounds which to me is below average considering thats what guards usually get. I don't recall too many double doubles so far in his career.

Keep in mind that his rebound total is going to be lower. You have the McGee, Lebron and even Ball gobbling up rebounds. Hart and Rondo also pull down boards from positions that typically don't. I'm not going to sweat Kuz's rebound total as long as we aren't leaving rebounds on the floor. This is a very different team construction than we are used to as Laker fans. Kuz may be listed as the pf a lot of the time, but his game is still very sf in nature.

the pace of the game is so high, that there are more rebounds to be had than in recent years

He should average 15 if he's even trying at all tbh

So basically if he and LeBron were on the bench, we would be undefeated LOL

This numbers are not very telling since Kuzma played a lot of C and got completely abused there.

I don't think he is a net negative.

Can someone find out what the Per36, Per48 and Per11 is? That will help explain suckage and losery of a 4-5 start instead of actually watching how bad the team plays defense.

There are a couple of issues with why the Lakers suck right now. One is, familiarity. Two, too many players that play the same position, therefore, player rhythm game in and game out is effected when they do not know if they are playing 38 min or 22 min.

Lakers will have to make a decision in a few months on what direction they need to go. I do not think you can fully develop Lonzo, BI and Kuzma at the rate you are now. And Lonzo needs a system to run. That is the skill set he has. Just like Jason Kidd and Steve Nash, they ran a system and they stuck to it and they played game in and game out. This constant 8 min in, out 5 min, 6 min in, out 5 minutes set up for Lonzo will do nothing for him in terms of development. It will slow it. Brandon Ingram's game is very erratic. As of right now, I do not see him ever being a superstar. Doesn't have the body to get to a spot at will and is too weak to stay his ground. If I am the Lakers, I look at him for a few more months and maybe send him for some value before he doesnt have value.

Kuzma has all the makings of a star if he is playing the 4 and you run plays for him to shoot open 3's. Hart is another one who is going to be a stud. He could start at the 2 or be a 6th man of the year guy for the next 10 years.

Lakers need to shed some some of the overload. Rondo, BI, Kuzma and Lonzo are starters in this league. You can't play 2 of them as regular starters and expect the other too to be effective.

If you trade Rondo, Ingram, and a couple picks for Beal, is Lebron/Kuz/Beal/Ball enough to get it done, cause that's the team you're kind of stuck with? Maybe Cousins takes 20 million a season to play for the Lakers cause that's the cap space we'd have available.

Maybe we should start looking at something like that.

    Next season:

    Cousins/Chandler
    Lebron/Wagner
    Kuzma/Svi
    Beal/Hart
    Ball/?

Are you having a mid life pumpkin crisis with the desperate moves above. Cause like you say we are pretty much locked in salary wise to those guys now. And one of those guys, Cousins of course never having won jack anywhere and being a head case, plus never a good P&R defender or speedy center and now coming off an achilles rupture. Just teasing you but that seems really risky.

Kuz needs to go back to the bench despite his offensive chemistry with Lebron. There's just not enough D with the two of them out there together as starters. It's brutal. Bring back Hart, move Kuz back to the bench.

Such a shame his D has been awful this season, doesn't help when we played him as small ball center, but I do remember him saying he worked hard during summer on his defense.

Luke has Boron-like stubbornness when it comes to line ups...I mean here we go again with without a permanent one 10 probably 20 games into the season
