This is the guy. I couldn't watch the game live. I even knew the final score, but when I watched the replay I was in AWE with how it unfolded. I can't think of another player who can go from 0-100 the way he did to close the game. I expect superstars like Kobe and Bron to take over games like that, but not from a guy who is arguably the 4th guard on the depth chart. We're waiting for Lance to be a bonehead but take this into consideration... around Bron and even Rondo he's on a short leash, who are probably the most serious players he's ever played with. Call me an optimist, but I see him as a player who will thrive in a structured environment. When he is optimized, he can leave a huge imprint on the game. Phil Jackson would adopt Lance as his son if this was 10 years ago. He's been pivotal in 2 games where 1) we crucially needed a win (vs Phoenix) and 2) on a back to back with of the hotter teams to start (vs Denver). It's early in the season, but I think they're meaningful games. I woke up all of my neighbors at 7am because of this play! Incredible.
Stephenson has gone Hollywood... He is very good when he plays within himself. Slick dribble around a Denver player, a drive and hanging shot that he could not finish. So far more good than bad. Energizes the crowd, the team and everyone in between.
Total rhythm player. like capoeira or whatever it’s called. When he’s in rhythm he can dance with the best of them. When he’s out of rhythm he’s an abomination. Like he doesn’t even belong in the g league. He’s Jekyll Hyde
"Bunny hop in the pea patch" with lots of mustard on = risky business. But nowhere near as risky as IT's act on defense.
We're going to probably see less Lance now with Rondo and Ingram back but he's literally our spark off the bench when we need one.
Should’ve played more tonight. Scored 11 points in only 15 minutes. It’s like having a defensive minded Swaggy P.
It absolutely sucks that KCP has a no trade clause, because with Lance we could ship his a** out for a center.
Luke loved his behind the back mustard covered pass out of bounds. Took awhile for him to get back in. But swear to g, like Laron Profit could look like Kobe moving with the ball out there sometimes if you hadn't been paying attention carefully visually, I do the same thing with Lance now for LaBron.
Shot well from the outside last night with the trey... Did only one showboat move faking that behind the back pass. Drove the lane twice into defenders but did not get the call. Did a decent job on Bazemore defensively.
he'll relent on it if we send him somewhere he cant start and stat pad for his next deal....at this rate he's looking at MLE or less next yr. There's no chance we're going to exercise his bird right and pay him long term at this rate.
Who would have thought that Lance would shoot 43% from 3 point range this season? Raise your hands. He has made plenty of big 3s in 4th quarters. His shooting is certainly an asset to a team where most players lay more bricks a day than your average construction worker.
True, but he doesn't shoot enough of them to keep the defense honest. He's only taking 2.7 3pt attempts a game. Hart is shooting a similar 3PT%, but he's taking 5.3 3pt attempts a game. Also, Rajon Rondo is also shooting 45% from 3pt range this season, but like Lance, he's only taking 2 attempts a game. Both Lance and Rondo need to take more attempts for their 3pt% to mean anything to opposing defenses.
^that's certainly true, he doesn't shoot enough to make up for the inefficiency of others. I guess though its better to have a high percentage than a low percentage. One reason they shoot a high percentage is that opposing defenses leave them open. At least they take advantage of it.
The jump passes from Lance have to stop. Happens at least once a game if we're lucky and its always a turnover. I'm glad he's shooting a relatively good percentage from the field though.
