He's not getting fired. Summer might be a different story though. Once we have a contender in place via FA/trades the FO will want results. Not sure Luke is established enough.

i'm very surprised at those vegas odds. the lakers FO has been preaching patience.

firing luke would be a weird move.

    Zero chance Luke is fired.

    1) They've been saying it'll take a while... for a while.
    2) There's no clear replacement.
    3) It's only three f***ing games.

This is my thought. He's gonna get every opportunity to prove himself but I do think he needs to clearly show the front office he's the man to steer the ship.

I’m guessing the Vegas thing is not based on inside info but on the Blatt effect.

I would hope if a coach is willing to get fined the head of referees office will take the comments seriously and look at what is being referenced on the tapes.

I thought we would start getting the benefit of calls when Lebron signed on. Guess I was mistaken.

    Luke be like:

Honestly, how Harden gets away with 15 FTA a game on touch fouls and Lebron gets hammered for nothing is beyond me...

^^^Harden shot 10-19 from the field...5-10 from 3...which means that out of his 9 field goal attempts at or around the rim, he got 15 FT attempts.....that means that if he wasn't fouled on the perimeter, he went to the free throw line each time for the 4 attempts he missed (8 fts) and got And1 opportunities for each of the shots he made (5 fts)...plus the 2 technical FTs = 15 ft attempts total...Da f***?!?

Meanwhile, BI took 1 3ball attempt and out of his 8 shot attempts half were taken at or around the rim and he only went to the free throw line once. Da f***?!?

Bron has the 5th most attempts at or around the rim and has 10 more attempts compared to Harden, yet has only taken 2 more free throws than him. Kuz has taken 1 less attempt than Harden at or around the rim, yet has taken 16 less attempts at the line than dude. Hart has taken 5 less attempts than Harden at or around the rim, yet he has taken 20 less attempts at the line than dude. Da f***?!?

Ya ya yah, the youngns ain't going to get the whistle, but Bron tho?!? What da f*** is going on here?!?

Luke, like BI, lost his s*** for a reason fam.

It's clear that Laker hate is stronger than LeBron propping up by the Media now ... figures.

And just like that, Luke is on the hot seat hahaha

Other than the "I love coaching LABron" thing, Coack K also makes interesting comments about BI (even takes a shot at the tiny dog haha).

For the record, I'm a Luke guy and I think he deserves a full season (at the very least) with Bron to get his vision realized. We know this team is still a 2max player away from being a final product, so Luke should be allowed to see this through and once that roster is set and it is still failing then firing Luke begins to hold more weight...till then, we gotta see this through...otherwise this regime would be no better than the previous regime with their ridiculous turnover rate for coaches.

    4) Luke has never had a year with the majority of the roster the same. Meanwhile the teams teams we've played the first 3 games - Blazers, Houston, and Spurs have been together for a while.

It would sure be nice to have some continuity going forward without all these 1 year deals and turnover.

The coach is ALWAYS the scapegoat.

It kills me... Do you guys have anything of substance to say about his abilities as a coach? Besides platitudes and BS "players coach" labels?

Like, please, can someone educate me on what he actually DOES well? Provably HIM?

I just don't see it. He interviews well...

I see the end result, the many botched lineups, lousy ATO plays, misused players, super primitive offense...

What is it that he does that makes you such a believer? Let me see the light.

    Zen, here's my list:
our coaching carousel under the old regime...lets never do that again
ability to connect to young players (4th youngest team in the league)
wants to improve defensively (but so far all talk)
he just got Bron and it is a small sample size, but if you give Luke horses, he can lead that team to do great things (see dubs)
    Phil/Kerr coaching pedigree
He and his pop are champions
youngest coach in the game, so we need to give it time to marinate
3rd year coach with major roster turnover and FO regime change (Stevens in the weak east snuck into the playoffs in year 2 and got swept out in the 1st round...year 3 lost in the 1st round...year 4 got to the ECF and lost)

I think this needs to marinate a bit. Like @bfc1125roy and others have alluded, the offense (lack there of - 5th worst in offensive efficiency so far) is worrisome, but the defense is downright alarming...that being said, this team was just constructed and the major core pieces aren't even set yet (next summer changes that). Three games in year 3 of his coaching career ain't going to tell us much either....but what will tell us something is if the players start to tune him out and as of now, that isn't the case.
