The Blazers just got some added motivation before Thursday's season opener on their home floor. That was fast! I remember reading he was diagnosed that the cancer came back like 1-2 weeks ago. RIP.
Yes, Booker looks great, as does Ayton. And Josh Jackson can still become a big time wing player. With that said...I kind of feel like this is going to be Minny 2.0. Unless you get a real franchise cornerstone (an MVP candidate), you ain't really all that great.
Mo Bamba is going to be a PROBLEM He also needs to be starting....Magic really messing up by having Vuc still on the roster!
they're missing harrison barnes right now, too. problem for them is wes matthews is now completely done, but carlisle won't sit him. devin harris was done last year (and is great assistant coach material), and it will take injuries to keep him out. their d has been pretty bad the first two games, and smith looks like he'll continue to be inconsistent. doncic is a badass, though. better defensively than i thought he'd be, and as advertised on offense. his lack of athleticism really hasn't been a problem, and his shot from deep is better than projected. a dude that size with that kind of stepback and court vision...wtf was sacramento doing at #2?
Doncic is the real deal I believe. As he gets more comfortable, I expect him to emerge as a star. His D will probably be questionable given that he is slow footed and not very athletic. But his IQ and his smart play will be very valuable. He will be one of those "annoying" players that somehow always comes through.
