I have a source very close to that situation. I don't know that I'd call Lonzo a "deadbeat dad", but he's a 20 year old kid who isn't home much to help take care of the child. His girlfriend, after facing tremendous pressure to not have the baby from Lonzo's "team" (his dad and his "friend" D-Mo mostly) has a very frayed relationship with both Lonzo and the family. He's a kid not ready to be a father and with outside pressure from his family pushing him away from his girlfriend, this thing was destined to fail.
Well, the girl knew what she was doing keeping the child. I bet, that if the kids father worked at the gas station, she would be ok with the abortion. That being said, Lonzo is a d******.
She isn't just some girl to that family. She and Lonzo had been dating since high school. They had talked about getting married. Then she got pregnant and everything changed. The "team" around Lonzo called her a gold digger and made it seem like she was just in it for the money. At a certain point, that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when it's being shoved down the poor girl's throat. Basically the situation became so toxic, she decided to leave it. As far as I know, he'll still support the child but the relationship with his ex-girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend's family is probably damaged beyond repair in terms of sticking together.
After watching last night, I'm thinking that Zo has to start for this team. I like Rondo as an "insurance policy" if Zo gets injured; but Zo can be elite defensively. Rajon's best days as a good defender are done. I'm convinced of this now...
Magic was glowing about Lonzo in his in game interview with Mike on Spectrum Sportsnet. Really excited to get him back and have him get them game legs back. Hopefully he plays tomorrow.
I absolutely agree LVBD. I think Rondo will be better coming off the bench. But I was really impressed with Rondo's play in general and I'm so glad we have him this year.
If Zo utilized wrist motion in his personal life to the same extent he does in the professional one, the whole ordeal would have been avoided.
I'm sick of us doing this...just taking precautions after precautions...we need to get him back on the floor for 2-3 pre-season games to get some chemistry going. I don't want him playing for the FIRST TIME in our first regular season game. Also, he needs to be starting. I don't like Rondo with the starting lineup...
Isn’t he already participating in full contact scrimmages? At the very least I hope he plays in the last two games.
What’s the rush? Id rather him be 100% coming back then 70% and risk being injured again. We have plenty of guys to run the point in his place.
Bro..he's BEEN 100% for a while now...he's been cleared to play for a while...it's the LAKERS who are holding him back. I'm surprised Lavar hasn't come out and blasted us for it yet...this would be the one time I would agree with Lavar. Quit babying his a** man....get his butt out theere asap
Spoke to the source yesterday. Things are really rough right now between the kids with the kid in the middle of it. Still working out how they're going to move forward (financially).
