Are you saying Durant is not a good defender? I'd have to look at stats, but my first thought it to disagree. His role on GS has him more involved on defense than prior, and he's been solid on D and blocks in my opinion.
He said “great” on both O and D is the minimum superstar qualification. Durant has worked hard to become solid on D in the playoffs primarily, but when I think of great defenders I never think of him.
IMO, a player need not be elite on both ends to be a superstar. Prime dirk for example. Kyrie is borderline. How about magic?
Dirk is a great example. Magic too. Magic was a solid team defender, and great defensive rebounder for a guard, but no one ever accused him of being a great defender.
There was a time when Johnson wanted to play Jordan one on one for a pay per view event... Still one of the funniest things about him besides his talk show stint.
I whole heartedly agree. He has a lot of great attributes that I hope he continues to develop and obviously he manages to stay healthy.
Rondo gunning for his loot.. and a major diss from Kobe honestly. He has a lot of pressure on him right now going to be interesting how Lonzo plays this season. Not a fan of the reality show drama his Dad brought but I don't mind the kid and hope he does well. Was very disappointed he wouldn't be adjusting his shot though.. it's pretty bad and if he is around for some deep playoff runs him trying to wing up that weak jumper on tired legs is going to piss a lot people off quickly.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles...dium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-league Looks like Rondo is set to mentor Zo!
With the way Rondo is talking, I think we could have one of the best backcourts in the league. KCP's playing time puts that in jeopardy, whos minutes should be Hart's. Anyway it's much nicer reading about this stuff over "LeBron is trying to ship Lonzo out", or Magic sending warnings to him & Lavar. Lonzo and Rondo are part of the same plan where the former is set to take a big leap in year 2. And that makes Rondo one hell of a backup. After LeBron helped overpay JR, Shumpert and Thompson, I'm sure he was aware that Curry and Klay were beating him on 13 mil and 16 mil a year. I don't think the FO or LeBron is in a hurry to trade the young guys yet. LeBron doesn't plan on "taking a year off", and that includes featuring the young guys heavily. If the the other vets take from Rondo's lead and understand their roles; this is a deep, dangerous team. I'm so hyped for this season.
Didn't you guys learn your lesson with Deng about the "veteran leadership" horse s*** already? This team needs the players to play and not be diva's. Focus on winning team basketball. Rondo doesn't need to mentor Ball. Ball needs to stay on the court or Rondo will have his spot. That's the reality.
That's his mom speaking in the last picture. Great to see that she continues to recover and improve from the stroke.
