No, I didn’t misunderstand your post at all. Our perspectives may be similar but our views about Ingram are very different and that’s okay.

I in no way think Ingram is one dimensional. We will have to agree to disagree on this fact.

And that’s not the same thing at all. If I say Player X led the league in scoring, I’m gonna give you how many points he scored per game vs the next 3-4 players, I’m not going to break down video and charts to show you how he scored his points and against who. That wouldn’t make any sense. I would only do that if I was making a point “against” Player X.

Based on who? It seems to me you are trying to make him something he is not. I do agree though that he needs to get better at the line and I believe he will. Unfortunately, history shows us that he probably will never get high as we’d want (80%+) but he will probably cap out at around 74-76% as a career average, which I think is respectable.

This is weird because I saw him in all these facets this year and I didn’t see the same thing you say you are seeing. In fact, these are the areas that impressed me the most and where I saw the most potential.

Really? Let’s look at the 2nd year for these players.

    Kawhi Leonard: 11.9ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.0apg, 1.7spg, .6bpg - 49% fg, 37% 3pt, 31.2mpg
    Paul George: 12.1ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.4apg, 1.6spg, .6bpg - 44% fg, 39% 3pt, 29.7mpg
    Gordon Hayward: 11.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.1apg, .8spg, .6bpg - 46% fg, 35% 3pt, 30.5mpg
    Paul Pierce: 19.5ppg, 5.4rpg, 3.0apg, 2.1spg, .8bpg - 44% fg, 34% 3pt, 35.4 mpg
    Brandon Ingram: 16.1ppg, 5.3rpg, 3.9apg, .8spg, .7bpg - 47% fg, 39% 3pt, 33.5mpg

Aside from Pierce, who shot almost 300 more 2pt fgs and over 150 more 3pt fgs, Ingram had a better 2nd year than any other player. We would agree that they are all very good players.

But this right here is why we won’t be able to discuss things fairly and further. You’re clearly bias against Ingram, so your argument is going to be heavily favored your way and you will never see where I or anyone is coming from. I mean if you think 47% from two and 39% from three is poor for a 2nd year player then you’re just being unfair and your expectations of Ingram are totally impossible.

I mean, I don’t like Lebron, but my hate for Lebronmania doesn’t cloud my judgment in saying that he sucks or that he’s trash. This is your opinion man and I’m not saying it’s wrong, it’s just unfair in a discussion where you don’t plan on budging or hearing the other side, so...

The contortions with stats necessary to paint 47% and 39% from the floor in BI's 2nd year at just 20 years of age .... as a bad shooter with not much hope going forward ..... are "mind bottling".

Yeah I keep looking at these before and after pics of BI and thinking am I blind?. 'Cause I see about about 1/2 oz of ink and an ounce more hair. I dunno wtf Lane is talking about. More ink, more hair. That's what I'm getting.

BI is wirey strong like a piece of leather well put together..... We used to call that country strong. He likely wont put on a lot of weight, and doesn't need to, until he's in his mid 20s. We shouldn't equate strength with weight.

I thought "Country Strong" was a big, giant guy? That's why I called the 6'6" linemen that beat me up from around the way.

No I'm familiar with skinny strong guys. :D There were a few of those on my teams growing up, but I always called "Country Strong" the massive pillars of meat that came out of the country. Language is weird. :D

I see a noticeable difference here. He’s not big, but he’s bigger. For example, his bicep is now at least equal to, if not bigger than, his elbow bone. That’s improvement. He’s never going to be huge, but he can certainly strive for being Kevin Durant size.

Eh, muscle does weigh something, and is actually a denser tissue than fat. And the biggest predictor of strength is muscle size (although yes, there is a component of neuromuscular efficiency as well, amongst other things like good technique).

Not saying BI has to become Arnold tomorrow, but even Durant, who is the poster boy for "wiry strength" right now, has added a LOT of muscle mass since he came into the league. This article has all the details and his weight over time: https://newsok.com/article/5469011/...-became-one-of-the-nbas-most-complete-players

As for Durant's wiry strength: here is him holding Kevin Love down in the post pretty well (he can handle LeBron too... but can't find the clip):

Pretty amazing how he holds low post position, blocks the shot, and recovers the rebound. He actually scores on the other end too in transition right after this. I hope BI can get to this level.

Magic got pretty buff too. Look at him now.

Also Kobe has clearly been in the weight room as well.
