I know. That's why I said Kawhi is Ingram's ceiling, but nobody will care about that in a couple months. These mooks are just waiting to throw the Tayshaun thing back at me.

...Ingram is already a couple of notches off the floor. Their games are just so different at least to me even if Prince is nothing to sneeze at. Ingram has made strides on his on ball defense.

The numbers are very, very similar but I agree Ingram has a more diverse offensive skillset. In Tayshaun's third year (and slightly older than Brandon) he averaged 14.7/5.3/3 with just a hair under a steal and a block per game. Prince did it for 82 games too where BI missed some time. Remarkably close to what BI did last season and Tayshaun was pretty consistent with those numbers until the wheels fell off late. That's why I used him as my example.

That is my only case for the difference in comparison where it ends for me. Besides it, yes the stats don't lie.

My left calf weighs more than BI. I'd break him 2 seconds.

It's about the recent media narrative that the FO did not surround Lebron with shooters with the composition of the team being what it is.

i think i followed that part, but usually, a video with an incredulous "they said we can't shoot" centerpiece would be adding footage of made shots or some such, no?

I feel last season Ingram was already better than prime Tayshaun Prince on offense... and he still has a ton more to be able to improve on.

If Ingram continues to improve at his current rate on offense, I think realistically he can be Gordon Hayward on offense

However, he isn’t anything close to prime Tayshaun Prince on defense... BUT he definitely has the ability and IQ to be as close on defense as prime Tayshaun. Remember, prime Tayshaun gave prime Kobe fits just guarding him one on one.

So that’s what I think Ingram’s realistic ceiling is. He’s gonna be some sort of hybrid of Hayward on offense (able to average 23ppg/6rpg/3.5apg on 47% fg and 37% 3pt shooting) while being playint all NBA level defense where he’s the second coming of the teradactal.

If we think about that type of player, that’s a player that’s in the same league as Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and maybe even Kawhi.

This is a smoother (see what I did there?) version of what I said. Well put.

I think a big difference in their games is that Prince was never a shot creator. Ingram already has a better ability to get a shot for himself. That's reflected in their advanced numbers a bit: Ingram had a usage% of 22.2 last year which is higher than any usage% of any year in Tayshaun's career. Ingram also had a higher assist% last year (17.7%) than any year in Tayshaun's career. That's a percentage of shots that a player assists while on the floor so a good indicator of how involved they are in creating for others.

Definitely Tayshaun was a better defender, but it's hard to argue that Ingram lacks any tools in that regard. I actually think the only thing holding BI back is consistency with his aggression on the floor. He has to be aggressive at all times and keep pressure on the defense. Looking at his workouts, he knows that and I'm sure that's something LeBron (and Rondo) will help foster in him.
