Last season Beal dropped 51 against Portland in Portland in a win. Set the record for points scored in that arena for an opponent.

He had 13 games in which he shot 10+ threes and he hit on 42.9% of those shots.

He really struggled against Golden State last year, but was excellent against the Thunder and the Rockets (especially the Thunder).

I'm just saying, this guy is legit. If he's our 2nd option, that's a stud right there. He just turned 25 a few days ago, he's younger than Caldwell- Pope. I understand not wanting to trade Ingram for a guy who likely is at best a 2nd option, but we're talking about Ingram like he'd be the 3rd option on a championship level team behind Kawhi and LeBron, so I'm not sure this trade should be so easily dismissed.

It feels like you might not have watched BI play hahaha

That package is trash. BI only goes out for a star...a MVP type difference maker...not a souped up version of Pauline that also struggles to get out of the first round.

We might be overvaluing, but dawg, you're seriously undervaluing BI.

The Wiz are a bad team like the Lakers were last season, so inflated stats can be had for both Beal and BI. But Beal has played off a star in Wall...want to ponder a guess as to where I'm going with this?

Yeah I'm not giving up Ingram for Bradley effing Beal. He's nice don't get me wrong, but he's not great defensively and he's a short SG.

I'm not down for McCollum or Beal type of players unless we're trading Kuzma or Ball for them...Ingram needs to bring back an elite level talent like Kawhi and that is it

The frontcourt would even be thinner with this trade ( I read it several times on the forum but no Lance isn't a SF)

    SF : Lebron/Kuz
    PF : Kuz/Lebron
    C : McGee

and a bunch of unproven players .

The current roster construction is hard to understand

I'm not undervaluing him at all. We're getting a young All-Star locked into a long-term deal. That's exactly what we should be looking for in a trade with our young players. That's a massive value for Ingram. I'm not saying dump him for an expiring contract and a pick (D'Angelo, Clarkson, Nance). @Savory Griddles is trying to trade Lonzo Ball for freaking Kemba Walker who is worse and is on an expiring contract.

I've watched Brandon Ingram. He looks great for a 20 year old kid and has the makings of a good player.

The Wizards aren't great, but that has little to do with Beal and a lot to do with management and team makeup. They handed out giant contracts to Porter and held on to Gortat too long. Beal meanwhile without John Wall put up really good numbers. Wall only played 41 games last year and Beal still put up 22.6/4.5/4.4 with 1.2 steals. Without Wall in stretches Beal's numbers stayed pretty much steady. He almost always averages 20-25 with 4 assists and 4 rebounds a game while shooting in the mid-high 40s from the field and high 30s from outside.

The way some of you guys are talking, it's like Beal isn't a good player. Beal wasn't really any worse than Paul George last season. We get rid of Deng and bring in a long-term piece that's only 25 and already and All-Star? You'd think I was suggesting we traded for a bag of garbage. :D

Either way, it is what it is. I'm fine holding on to Ingram. I just think Beal is a better player than he's getting credit for.

I think "All Star" or not "All Star" is highly overrated when comparing different aged players and their ceilings, including the importance "fan selection" plays in the process. Beal is 3 years older and has been an all star. So what, when we can all see the likely future with normal progression of improvement year to year with how Ingram works and focusses solely on basketball, of the kind of player he is going to be with his height and length when he is the same age as Beal who is a short shooting guard. This seems ludicrous to me when Ingram is staring us right in the face and has better numbers than the basketball "god" that is Kawhi Leonard had at the same age. Now we're sending him out for a freaking shooting guard? When we have Hart in house, Svi in house, KCP in house. NO!! IMNTBHO.

He doesn't have the makings of a varsity athlete.

Being an All-Star is overrated now?

I mean what kind of jumping jacks are you guys really trying to do here to justify wanting Ingram over basically anybody in the league? If the argument now is "a young All-Star is not enough" then there's literally nothing to say anymore.

Yeah you want 3 players between 6'7 and 6'9 with good length ( or taller) in the SG, SF and PF spot.

Klay , Iggy, KD or Klay , KD, Green

    Brown , Tatum , Hayward

    Ingram , Leonard, Lebron ...

Versatility on both ends = championship

I explained it very well. You can choose to ignore it because it doesn't fit your opinion and that's fine too. But don't be twisting and then mocking it from how you twist it. Nothing guaranteed of course, but Ingram at the same age as Beal will very likely be the superior player with impact at his size whether he's an all star or not. In L.A. most likely he will be.

I'll ignore it then. Your entire argument is based off of "this kid is probably going to be better than all those guys one day". I'm giving you actual evidence and you're giving me conjecture. You want to take it personally, you do you. I'm sick of pussyfooting around this. You want to get aggressive about your opinion, feel free, but unless you've got something more than, "just look at his trajectory", I'm going to go ahead and move on.

By the way, Beal at 20: 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1 steal on 42/40/79 on a 44 win team.

At least comparable to Ingram. We'd be lucky if Ingram became Beal. All you guys acting like he's a bum and he's what we hope Ingram can become.

Why do we need a short SG now with what we have in house? All the talk has been about Ingram or Ingram and way too much else going out for long limbed and taller than Bradley Beal Kawhi Leonard coming off of a full year of inactivity with no guarantee he's even the same guy. So now flavor of the day for getting rid of Ingram too early, before we even see him this year, is for an excellent (all star) shooting guard instead?

Beal is no scrub (over the years, Real wanted us to sign/trade/draft way worse players:
Okafor, Parsons, Crabbe, Bazemore, Deng, Biyombo, Sessions etc. ;) ).
That being said, i would stick with BI and trade him only for a proven star... not injured, brain damaged Kawhi though :).
    Carry on now...

On a long-term contract? Fresh off an All-Star season? In a deal where we also dump Luol Deng's contract and have upwards of 25 million to spend next year? Sure. That's definitely not a deal we should just throw away.

There's no real urgency anymore since LeBron is signed, so I'm not in a hurry to make that move, but if it happened I wouldn't be mad about it either. I think the Lakers probably wait at this point until next summer and try to convince a FA to jump, I'm just not sure there's going to be as many FAs available as people assume. I think Kawhi sticks with whatever team finally trades for him. I think Klay stays home. Who else is out there that's going to really move the needle?

My only point in all this was that this trade shouldn't be dismissed as nonsense. It's not sourced, so it's not likely to be true, but a trade that nets us a young All-Star on a guaranteed deal, is something we should be looking at.

Of course he's no scrub but he's not a position of need with what we have on our roster going forward. Neither is 3 years younger Ingram a scrub.

    Hey!

I stand by some of those. :D I never wanted the 4th year on Deng, I don't think I advocated maxing Parsons... I still like Crabbe. :D Okafor could have been good if he didn't land in Philly... I stand by Sessions and Bazemore!

I wanted Deng; advocates for Parsons, wanted Sessions and Baze..

Wanted Russell over Okafor; but Russell hasn't looked great.

Been wrong more than I am right. Meh...

I’m not trading away Ingram’s length for a shorter offensive player, don’t care how good he is.

I'll put my opinion out there to make it abundantly clear...

I would prefer that we keep Ingram to see the jump he makes this coming season. The man is working hard and I believe he is going to be really special.

I would only trade BI for a healthy Kawhi at this point. I would rather be patient especially since LeBron is willing to be patient too. Let's see how the kids do this season.
