One of my favorite nba player signature moves is Rondo’s One handed ball fake into a layup.

I hope Rondo helps Lonzo develop his half court game as a point guard, by improving his drive and kick it to the open man or drive and finish.

Lonzo currently is very ineffective at creating for himself or others in the half court. There was always the theory it was because he was afraid to drive to the lane due to fear he will get fouled and he can’t make free throws. Regardless of why he was ineffective at creating, this has to be fixed.... I’m hopeful Rondo has a positive impact on that.

To throw shade at Lonzo, I now have my doubts his perimeter shoot or free throw shooting will improve if he’s having knee surgery. There won’t be time to work on his game if he spends the next several months rehabbing.

Ramona also got the PG situation wrong. I remember for months she was saying how confident she was in PG coming to LA and it was really just the days leading into FA that she changed her tune.

That's because the Lakers changed their tune for Paul George right after the Kawhi news. Kawhi update on when he finally said he wanted out, immediately followed reports with Paul George possibly staying in OKC. If you track it you can see it.

We are killing PG for not coming but I am starting to believe it may have been the Lakers who didn't want him. Think about it. Why not have a meeting when PG said last year he wanted to be here. At least a meeting would have happened if the Lakers were interested.

I think we are killing PG not knowing what actually happened. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Don’t make up stories to make yourself feel better. We signed Rondo, KCP and Stephenso into cap space that could of went towards PG. it’s ludicrous to think we didn’t want him instead of those guys. The truth is, he didn’t want to come here.

Yeah he wanted to be a Laker one season ago then was traded to OKC and liked it over there so he decided to stay .

It's clear he appreciated OKC took a risk by trading for him and didn't like we waited for him

Pretty crazy he equates not trading for him as not wanting him. You would think a player would want as many good assets on the team as possible.

Yeah. I doubt he actually really wanted to ever be a Laker. You don't want desperately to return home only to have the opportunity be wide open for you and then not even give Magic Johnson a meeting. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Not to mention, the Pacers were clear that they wouldn't trade him here unless we gutted the team, so the valuation of what OKC had to give up compared to us was ridiculous. They gave up what looked like a wildly overpriced Oladipo and a middling big man prospect. They wanted two 1sts and Randle and more from us.

If that's the reasoning he wants to try to spin, good luck. I'm not buying that nonsense.

But this is the Rondo thread. So let's get back to Rondo.

One of the cool things about Rondo is: the insurance he provides for Ball when he's out. I'm glad Windhorst touched on that.

I don't know exactly what's going on with Ball's knee, if anything at all, but at least we'll have a legitimate PG out there in case he goes down.

Definitely. I think we're going to find great value in Rondo with or without Lonzo, but if Lonzo goes down we've got a guy who has done it on the highest levels. Interestingly, Rondo is sort of what we want Lonzo to be. Rondo was at his best facilitating between Boston's scoring options. The hope was always to surround Lonzo with options too. I dont think Rondo and Lonzo will get along on friendly terms, but it should be a great learning expierence for him nonetheless.

I am very happy Rob is our GM. But for God sakes, can they feed him? Mag has him working 25 hours a day, the least you can do is cater his food.

It just totally takes away any worries I might have going forward on Ball's health.

For the record I'm not worried at all. This is just the Cadillac of insurance policies at the PG for what we want in that kind of player and the pace at which he plays with.
