Ramona says LeBron specifically said he liked Lonzo and his game. Has more to do with depth I would think.
availability is the best ability, I wanted a mentor for Lonzo, nobody better than a genius like Rondo
Exactly. Rondo is a starting caliber PG if Zo goes out injured. So instead of being screwed having to depend on Ennis and Caruso, we have an immediate replacement that can play big minutes in the biggest of games.
Don’t forget that Lonzo is as fragile as toilet paper. Rondo is good insurance in case Lonzo misses extended time.... ... plus Rondo is actually a upgrade on 3 point and free throw shooting lol.
Watch it Lonzo .... you were almost 1/3 down page 2, you're going to have to fight for your starting position against a pit bull who would be insulted to come off the bench, there's rumors they're looking with wandering eyes at Damian Lillard and .... your stupid f****** old man keeps butting into in a bad way the Lakers business if it was your camp. I don't think it was you so likely your dad. He is going to get you traded. Wise the f*** up. Be a man. Magic and Rob not going to keep putting up with him. Haven't read yet but we've all been eager for what went down. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-lakers-believe-lonzo-ball-210001682.html
Yeah; if Zo can just get to decent percentages from a shooting standpoint, I can see Rondo and Zo playing together. Intriguing fit. But one of them must be decent enough (from a shooting respect) to keep defenses honest.
Seriously...damn. Very curious to see how much he’s improved this year. That’s if we don’t ship him out first.
What is the situation with his knee? Are the team and him waiting for something before going ahead with, what, arthroscopic surgery to best repair the meniscus?
I like the organization is putting the pressure on him . He will be gone rather sooner than later if he doesn't have it
I really like zo i rather we keep him and develop him, everyone is just in panic mode bc we got LeBron. Let's roll the dice with this very versatile team. I don't think LeBron has ever played with passers like Zo and Rondo also the versatility that is on this team. So let's see what happens before we trade him.
I sais this in a sense he has to put the work in and be more often on the court ... and show progress on it . The FO is done with the "lazy/chill attitude" 2014-2017 era , rightfully so. Lonzo has to show he wants it and focus on B-ball ... more than be a part of the Kardashians of NBA led by his crappy daddy
Bron and Rondo coming to town means one of two things. With the pressure off Zo to develop right away and plenty of mentoring and competition around him he will either blossom or crumble. I think he will blossom under Bron's wing, but if it goes the other way he will be sent packing.
Still wondering why if he is going to need a procedure it hasn't happened yet. Still giving the PRP treatment a chance to maybe fix things? I would think he can't do the same intensity of weight work with his legs if that's the case to keep pace with his upper body, which would be problematic in itself. And having a crap training staff rather than LaVar working with him.
Not all meniscus tears require surgery, some heal on their own given time and rest. If you can get away with that, you do it every time. Not having surgery is better than having surgery; surgery is a last-ditch effort.
If this is the case, then was it likely that his meniscus was torn when he missed the last 2 months of the season and the Lakers/Lonzo were going the route of "it will heal over time" and tried to treat it with a PRP? If thats the case, sounds like it didn't work so now they are going with surgery?
A PRP injection is designed to stimulate healing and yes this is likely the injury he was playing with. However, he was recently cleared for activity on the court again. There's a few weeks here where they'll test how effective he is and if there's any pain. If there's pain still, surgery might be required. A meniscus surgery only takes 4-6 weeks at most to heal from. Keep in mind Lonzo has been lifting and working all summer so he's been improving. This isnt nearly as big a deal as is being made. This is the same injury that World Peace came back after a week or two. Technically if it's a real issue, he could just get his meniscus removed and play without it. It would lead to some knee instability and probably come back to haunt him when he's old and retired, but it's doable.
