No word on this at all? I figured when boogie was gone, we'd hear the lakers at least offered the cash to brook.
Yup, need to bring him back. He's a really good center. Slow, but plays defense, can shoot, has great post moves. He can't rebound to save his life, but on this team, that's totally irrelevant.
By the logic of people here... We should go after Dwight Howard for one year. I've been educated the last 24 hours quite often so now I understand: 1. Magic signed LeBron so what are you complaining about 2. It's just a one year contract 3. Winning is everything. Who cares if those guys are knuckle heads? 4. Who cares about shooting? Especially FT shooting. We have Svi and Mo, they're going to light it up. 5. You're just looking to complain. We signed LeBron so be quiet. 6. Brook was garbage anyway. Can't rebound or defend, too slow. Dwightmare though.... Fast and great rebounder.
Been thinking this. I actually like the edge and competition some of our new acquisitions bring, but that’s a different level of veteran leadership. Brook brings more of a calming veteran leadership, not to mention his familiarity with our team and fit for our team as a post threat who can also space the floor.
I would only take Dwight (i can't believe I'm saying this) back for 1 year and tell him to apologize to all Lakers fans for ditching us. But personally i wouldn't mind Lopez back he's a good character in the locker as well
No to Dwight. Ever. He's a loser, drama queen and Lebron doesn't like him for good reason. We really should lock up Lopez if we can.
Let me see if I'm understanding. We must have Bird rights on Brook. Is that correct? So we could go over the cap a little to re-sign him if we choose. But that could come into play much larger than small dollars this year in future seasons with the super expensive "repeater" tax issues? Or is the whole post full of ****?
What if getting Dwight became the way we get rid of the Deng contract. Dwight is an expiring 24m deal. Maybe Deng and a 2nd for Dwight. That could make swallowing Dwight back to the Lakers much easier.
If we could dump Deng, I'd actually consider this. I'd still prefer to just keep Lopez and try to dump Deng next offseason, but I could live with this if we got off of Deng's contract.
