    Odds are heavily in our favor for next year unlike Paul George was this year.

    If we do get a chance to get him this year without giving up too many assets, that would be the best option. Better to have him now then have him decide.

    theyll get something they just wont settle for la pkg, they'll take less elsewhere as long as they dont see leonard in la this yr, thats all that will matter to them

    Yeah he just repeated this on ESPN710: the Spurs are starting at 3 young kids and 2 picks. That means Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, and 2 1sts and they could negotiate UP from there.

    + Rob is cleverly giving 1 year deals to show San Antonio that waiting 'till next summer is completely feasible and maybe preferable than this BS. Let them get some scrub and a pick from Philly, Milwaukee, wherever and be the fools of the league. It's time to contact Kawhi's camp and say "look buddy, are you ok playing it out somewhere this season and come to a fully loaded Laker squad in the summer?"

    Yeah, this trade isn’t happening. We’re setting ourselves up with 1 year deals to sign him outright in 2019, he’ll probably be sent east to like Philly and it will then be on Kawhi to not pull a Little P if he actually does want to come here. We have no incentive to give up our young players other than the threat of what happened with Little P happening with Kawhi, and even then there are other great free agents that would join LeBron next offseason.

    Cyber X said there was an offer similar to that as well.

    Then, he (Cyber X) claims that Lebron told the Lakers (apparently through back channel communication since both parties couldnt communicate until Sat 12:01 EST) he was coming irrespective of any 2nd star, and thus the Lakers wouldn't be pressured to trade the farm on any potential Kawhi deal.

    Ramona tweeted the same thing; but said that convo occured Sat night; the "Godfather Offer" was made earlier in the week.

    Not buying that. He says it's the Godfather offer the Lakers "considered making," meaning we didn't make it. That's just the offer the Spurs want, not something we have or should offer.

    Yeah I bet the Spurs leaked that out there, but it never was on the table officially.

    I'm sure all those names were brought up in talks between the teams, but this smells like the Spurs were floating that around trying to get some team to outbid them. Asinine.
