Cap is set at 108M next year and lets assume we stretch Deng next summer (3 years @ 6M) and Jules gets a very friendly team deal of 12M.

    Bron (37)
Zo, BI, Kuz, Hart, Moe (22)
    Jules (12)
    Deng stretch (6)
= 77m team salary (31m in cap space)

The max for Kawhi next summer is 30% of the cap (32.5m)

We are barely under and that's with favorable numbers. If Kawhi is to use as as leverage next year, Jules may not be here, unless he's on something like MLE money (8.8m per). Also consider the Boogie angle in this if he does get back alright and proves he's a keeper.

That’s why we need to do a couple of 1+1 deals for Cousins and Randle and run this whole thing back next summer

Well, "that's all I can stands, but I can stands no more!" is how I feel about the other guy right now, so anywho, back on topic...

A part of me wants to take Mintz over a barrel....but we may not have to. George's deal is a terrible one. Dude left so much money on the table.

Maybe we can get a 1+1 for Jules. Boogie I have higher chances for, cause he needs a high number prove it deal and only us and NOP can give that to him now. Hopefully we won't have to stretch Deng to get it, but lets see.

As for Jules, I'm signing him and immediately looking for a way to bring in Kawhi with him...I'm sorry, but I don't want to deal with Mintz's shenanigans next summer. Either Jules finds new representation, or we should remain absolutely noncommittal in a long term deal for Jules.

I still think a trade for Kawhi is the best course of action. We have more flexibility that way and can only add to a possible Bron/Kawhi/Boogie core next summer.

I’m not sure Mintz had much to do with PG’s decision. I doubt he pushed for PG to give OKC such a present of a contract. Mintz lost out on money he could have gotten from the Lakers

So Mintz had no part in that absolutely vile ESPN docuseries?

When Rob came out and stated that we had amicable talks with Jules, Mintz comes back with this:

Honestly f*** this guy. We can probably get a good contract for Jules cause dude has no idea how to negotiate a true max for his clients, but I just don't want to deal with this guy no more...and if Kawhi comes into free agency next summer, that most likely means Jules is gone...so why not use Jules to trade for him.

Tell Mintz the only way Jules gets paid and can get sent home to Texas is via this S&T, if not, then sign your QO and we'll Noel the f*** out of Jules to kill his value in free agency next summer. Go try to find a deal in this market and we'll match and trade that s*** so fast cause Jules has no entitlement to a no-trade clause. So do you want us to pass those mins restriction on to Luke or do you want to go the S&T route?....and now you can pull your pants up and get up off that barrel.

Like I said, it sucks that it has to be Jules that gets caught up in these crosshairs, but I'm out for blood right now...hope our FO is too.

I'm with Barns on this one. Mintz may not be a great agent, but I have my doubts he's as dumb as George. It's hard to be an agent for so many players if you're a dingus who loses money on deals.

In George's dumb documentary series, they showed Mintz telling George about all his different options. At some point George had to have listened to this and then still made the decision to sign for less than he had to, for the wrong number of years, without giving the Lakers a shot. That mostly falls on George, not Mintz.

I do agree though that at the moment I'm so angry that talking to Mintz about Julius would be difficult.

We need to go all in with this. If you get Kawhi, you get LeBron you ship out Lonzo for a good package arpund Kemba Walker and go from there. I hope Magic and Rob don't screw our big chances here ...

Yo @OX1947 calm down bro, Paul George was never our savior, just a piece, now we focus on someone else. The blessing in disguise is Ingram/kuz (who i believe will have a better career than Paulina Georgina) will get more playing time and continue to get better. I believe in our kids. LeBron, boogie and Randle would be one very successful summer in my eyes. Yes we're all pissed that p**** p chose the other team but s*** happens not everything is rainbows and butterfly's but just the fact that there's so much optimism in Lakers land compared to the past we should be happy with that. Anyways just my 2 cents after some sleep lol

Don’t know how much is on Mintz but I’m honestly so annoyed that I’m good with burning down everything associated with that group.

If a deal with Randle gets us Kawhi do it yesterday Magic/Rob.

...and San Antonio would be more than happy to oblige Philadelphia. Send their disgruntled "star" East and spite us being a long time conference rival. Two birds...one stone.

Tuesday can't get here fast enough.

I’m gonna be honest here, I’m getting desperate.

We all thought PG was in the bag the moment he demanded a trade, and with Lebron a possibility, we thought it was all but done.

I know we have the chance to get Kawhi outright right in 2019, but I’m done taking chances in FA now. We need to grab Kawhi while we still can.

BI and Randle to SA. Do it Maginka.

I agree that we should try our best to get Kawhi, but at what point are the Spurs just asking for too much? Especially now that they know we're in a weak position with PG staying in OKC.

Well both teams are in a bind. It just depends on which team is willing to give a package that’s going to be better than the Lakers. Right now, none, and as the season prolongs, offers will get worse. So both teams are going to have to collaborate to get what they both want.

Randle and BI is honestly the best package for them. And that’s already a lot for us to give up.

They'll up their offer when Lebron says "I'll go to Philly if you can get me Kawhi."

If I’m Lebron’s camp, I’m calling each GM and telling them to get Kawhi and he will join them.

Expect fireworks coming up to the 4th.
