Wonder if the Spurs will ever swallow their pride and just accept they will not get much.

One way or the other, the Spurs are going to finally start burning a year from now. Cleveland will burn this week, and that dip**** in Dallas is actually thinking about bringing in a mental midget who backed out of him before and is still gonna bring him back, while bringing back a 41 year old corpse because they want him to be there for his 21st season.

All that is left is David Stern to choke on a pretzel and the Lakers get their revenge on them all while hopefully meeting the C Bags next year in the Finals and tying this mo fo up 17-17.

I’ve always respected the Spurs and think they’ve been a class organization that has served as a legitimate rival for us. They’ve been great for the league.

And I don’t even have any issues with what they’re doing right now. I totally understand why they’d play hardball, and even why they were initially inclined not to deal him to us at all. That level of spite and envy is reasonable.

But for some reason, I don’t JUST want Kawhi anymore.

I want us to outplay the Spurs in this game. I want us to call their bluffs and utilize the leverage that is clearly on our side (despite what the media might be trying to portray). I want us to end up fleecing them and taking for ourselves the top 5 player they developed, while giving up minimal assets.

And I want this moment to be the end of the Spurs. I want us to usher them into a dark age and close the book on their two decades of relevance. I want us to use that to spring ourselves back into being perpetually elite. I want to minimize them from a true rival, into a footnote in our history as the greatest franchise in sports history.

    Is that mean?

After all the pain and agonies I’ve been suffered these past few years, I want us to crush the whole NBA and all their fans, not just the Spurs only. We are finally back to relevancy fam!!!

Since Little P seemingly was a lock to go back to OKC from the jump, I wonder if the Lakers knew this behind the scenes and this is when the Kawhi interest started. Maybe they will be more aggressive since they were holding out for PG to officially make his decision.

F it, let’s get Kawhi now. At least he knows what he wants.

“Little P”, that’s the best one yet. I’m going to call him that for the rest of his career. [IMG]

I’m wondering the same though, I think we may have been informed he wasn’t coming to LA and that’s why we haven’t heard anything about him and LA except that stupid leaked pitch script.

I don't trust what Kawhi is saying.

After what happened with PG, how can we trust any hometown player who says they want to be in LA?. Don't trade for him.

Wanted Kawhi from the jump...but p^*** p really f***ed our leverage with the Kawhi trade talks.

This guy literally killed his home town...I'm actually afraid for this guy. He's going to need someone from the blood or crips to give him a pass back to LA... hopefully fanatics leave his family out of this.

I'm honestly waiting, even if it takes until next year, for Kawhi to be the next hometown kid to spurn us.

Leverage back with the Spurs. I really worry that even if we get LBJ and letting Lebron see our talented young kids we're going to give away more for Kawhi and we would have a few days ago.

    Really hope I'm wrong.

I asked earlier why the Spurs have the leverage back and no one answered me. Why does us having the open max slot that PG would have taken, thus making a trade the only way to obtain Kawhi, take away our leverage? In my mind it adds to it, what am I missing?

They have a modicum of leverage until we sign LeBron. If we sign LeBron, all leverage is gone.

Jules takes a huge chunk of it now... And we know that Mintz is a douchebag to the nth degree.

Here's how the Spurs get some leverage back:

They can now go back to Philly and Boston and say "hey, look what happened with PG13...he said he wanted LA but he got a full year with OKC and he re-signed with them"....it SHOULD give Philly and Boston the confidence to up their offers even if Kawhi sticks to his "LA or BUST" mantra.

    Tonight sucks...

Mintz lost all credibility with all future agents he has with us. Good luck.

Honestly....we're going to play the game now with Mintz. The fact that PG13 didn't even give us a meeting with everything we pulled off...it's a huge slap in our face.

Nah I think we still preserve our cap space no matter what...so Jules might be just given the QO or 1 year max signing
