It’s not the injury that troubles me. It’s that his camp most likely leaked it.

Again, I like him. I think he played better than he is given credit for. But yeah, if we could ship him out instead of Ingram or Kuz I’d be pleased.

My point is nothing changed. Why call for a trade now due to injury?

Put Kuzma on the C Bags last season in place of Tatum, I think you see similar results. He’s a gamer for sure, he was big in playoff games, not afraid to shoot in the least, but neither is Kuz.

Donovan Mitchell was the best rookie last year. ;)

Do you watch the C bag games? Just wondering.

Tatum can do everything on offense; including SHOOT.

Defensively, he isn't a liability; and he'll likely get better.

But this is a Lakers site and Zo homers will shoot me down. So I refrain from getting into a debate.

Tatum is special. Will Zo be? Maybe if he can stay on the court...

Agree. And you wouldn't say that if we drafted Tatum

oh, this thread wasn't active before. i think i've been suggesting ball/deng for wall since, like, october. he just needs to stay upright long enough to fool the wizards.

I believe both of them are very good. If you recall I liked Tatum quite a bit before the draft and was upset he ended up with the C Bags.

I believe in Lonzo and it was the right pick for us given Kuzma. I believe this is the draft that will shape the future of the NBA. Kuzma, Tatum, Mitchell, and Lonzo will be stars. I think Fox, Smith Jr., John Collins, and OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Markannen are all really good too.

Tatum was better than Lonzo last year, but that's due a lot to Lonzo not playing enough minutes and being physically a lot less developed. I believe Lonzo will show quite a bit of improvement this upcoming season. All this "bust" talk is just... disappointing from Laker fans.

    He isn't a bust.

But I think Tatum will be a better player.

I also mentioned before the draft when we were talking that Tatum would have a better career than Ball

And yes, you were high on him. No doubt.

Let's hope as Lakers fans that Ball turns out who most think he can be. I would love to be wrong...

i think if ball stayed healthy, he might project as more valuable than tatum. early returns are pretty freaking terrible on that front, though. and it matters. a lot.

You have to also take into consideration that’s Tatum is not tasked to run or initiate the offense. Additionally, he has a really good cast around him to support elevate his game.

However, I still think Ball’s ceiling is still higher than Tatum. Like Magic said, he’ll be a different player next year, especially if Lebron and whoever are there to take the pressure off of him.

I mean, Malcolm Brogdon was better than Ingram in their rookie years, but I wouldn’t trade Ingram for Brogdon in a million years. Age counts (I know this isn’t applicable in Tatum vs Zo), potential/ceiling counts, where their body is at as far as being NBA ready counts, many factors need to be considered. The 2017 all-rookie team

    Brogdon, Hield, Hernangomez, Saric, Embiid

Ingram didn’t even make it, but I wouldn’t trade him for any of those players except a healthy Embiid. Some players take longer to reach their ultimate potential, same goes for Zo with me, and people said as much when he was drafted, that he’d take a few years to get stronger.

but this thread's about ball. if i could get an allstar for him, i'd do it yesterday.

I'll keep beating this drum too. If this didn't come from the Lakers ..... look the hell out. Magic and Rob will be going ballistic over this for the timing of it. Stay tuned for whatever the hell really happened.

    Just for fun...

Lonzo and Deng for Kemba Walker and Marvin Williams. Marvin stretches out to 5.9 million a season.

    Sign PG and Lebron

Sign Lopez to the Room Exception

Fill out the rest of the team with ring chasers

    Walker
    PG/Hart
    Ingram/Kuz
    Lebron/Kuz
    Lopez/Wagner
