Metta did play 12 games later after this surgery, so not too concerned. More worried about the game being played
Totally different. DLo's personality and off the court stuff wasn't fitting with what Magic and the FO wanted. They weren't sure he could be the on the court leader they wanted. Lonzo so far is having some knee issue, but it way too early to say he's a broken player and needs to be traded while there is still some value. I hate what I'm hearing on ESPN 710 and had to turn that crap off. They're arguing that this is why you don't build around the young players because things like this can happen. This can happen to anyone and Kawhi basically missed the entire year so Steve Mason and company are saying we should trade for him because we can't trust our young guys to stay healthy. COME ON....
Key is he won't have time for on court development due to the surgery. Somebody is sending signals. He's probably close to being traded.
Magic already said he was impressed with the work Lonzo has been doing in the weight room, on the court, and film room with him. Said he would come back a much more aggressive player. Magic wouldn't say this if Lonzo didn't already put in SOME work. But yes, going forward this off-season there is sufficient time lost to improving still. Also we still don't know if he's having surgery yet.
I agree and its already been reported that is one of our other major needs we're looking to address after all the dust has settled on LBJ and PG.
If LeBron signs here, I don’t have any doubt a decent backup PG will come here for the minimum. Ring chasing backups have been following him around for most of his career.
I can't believe this s*** man. On a day where PG13 and LeBron opt out, and leverage want back to us....now this crap happens? I'm so sick of Big Baller Bust man. Now he's going to lose valuable time on improving his GAME and he's going to be behind when he starts the season...and not to mention if we were close to trading him (and keeping Ingram in the process), that may have killed a potential Kawhi deal. ARGHHHH
I don't know the slant of the report (in terms of trade talks), but if he was diagnosed with a torn meniscus, you can still walk around on it. The way he's moving on it and not favoring one side kind of reveals it's not a severe tear and can be surgically repaired rather than completely removed (meniscectomy). The latter leads to an increased predisposition of arthritis.
Seriously right now in the midst of trade talks for Kawhi and the day before formal FA starts? They were under no league rule to report anything on this. Hey everyone loves a good conspiracy ... let's go.
