I wonder what the “best” offer the Lakers have made so far is.

If BI wasn’t offered, my sense is it’s kuzma, hart, prospects (Wagner?) and future picks.

I just don’t know how taking on money from Denver would even work for us to get another pick to add to this. Wouldn’t it defeat the purpose of getting Kawhi to lure LeBron? We could really only take on approximately $10 mil (difference between Kawhi’s salary and PG’s max salary). This also does signal there won’t be space for PG if it goes through.

I think it’s just semantics. Feel like we’ve been swapping proposals with the Spurs but no formal offer yet. I’m sure BI is on the table.

I think the leaked offer is bull.

The C Bags have had similar reports of Tatum being the guy the Spurs want.

I think this is all a desperate attempt for the Spurs to drum up bigger offers. Including the Lakers looking for a 1st and willing to take cash.

The good news is: we will find out really soon what everyone's plans are. If Bron opts in tomorrow, prepare for a punted FA season.

No..I mean that incredible court vision, passing ability & Basketball IQ of Zo.
Why would the scoring burden be on Lonzo with three All Stars on the Team..?
A pass first facilitator of his calibur would be a perfect compliment. Whereas BI & Kuz are slightly redundant.

And it will be a huge black eye to Magic/Pelinka. If Ingram/Kuzma/Picks don’t turn into all NBA/Championship caliber players....

Those two can watch from the couch with us.

This is why they were brought in to close. There’s no punting and insert year here plans, there’s big names to be had, no excuses.

Magic didn’t give any breaks to the previous regime. He isn’t getting any from me.

Having said that I’m confident they can get the job done. Lebron is the glue to all this, don’t give him a reason to opt in and ruin all this.

I dont disagree. Magic and Rob aren't afforded that luxury, but we as fans should have a tiny reservation ready for that just in case.

It's been reported that he is near 100% or close to it, but no one knows how it will react to an 82 game season again or how likely the quad could get injured again.

    Too much risk

LMFAO! The one with the long arms almost looks like he's flexing and taunting the other one after he finally ran him off.

I agree with this. I am not sure who we are getting, but we better at least get one of these top guys this off season. For all this talk about how they needed to get the Laker brand back to where it was, they have done that. You have the young talent, you have the buzz, you have the cap space, its time to close. There is two top five players wanting to join your team and another really good one, get it done.

preach. already annoyed that 2019 is even being discussed. that's some bs, imo. every move was made for now. if the plan was "maybe later" we didn't have to do what we did during the past calendar year.

Eh. Magic and Rob put us in a place where we can shoot our shot. An exec's purpose is to put us in adventitious positions financially and talent wise and they did that. That's all they can really do. The rest is up to the players, and if the players make their decision before Magic can even get in a room with them, its not really Magics fault.

Could you have imagined two years ago talking about getting three top superstars, getting (arguably) the steal of the draft at #27, another steal at 30 and possibly winning championships? Yeah, that's all from Magic and Rob running s*** well?

Naw I won't be mad if we don't get it done this off season.

I agree. It'll be tough to accept if PG and Lebron decide not to come here, but we're in a much better position than we were a year ago. Plus I don't like the idea of meeting the Spurs price for Kawhi to force the issue this offseason.

Magic is in his position for these moments.

I expect him to deliver at least one major guy period. We’ve been in the position to land guys with cap room etc a few times and failed miserably.

    Time to deliver.

If that one major guy is only Kawhi and we have to give up several young assets to get him, then that is not “delivering”.

Disagree. If Kawhi is healthy you don’t pass on him for the possibility that one of these kids will be that good.

Kawhi has never played more than 70 games. Career average is 16pts. He didn't crack 20pts a game until his 4th-5th season i believe and ingram did it in his 2nd. I get it, he played great in the finals. Amazing defender. But we don't know if he will ever play on that level again. And Ingram is going to get even better. Lets not throw the "farm" at him

We freed up cap space for two max contracts and the only guy we get is via trade by sending out some of our young talent? Yeah thats a disappointing summer right there and Magic/Rob would have dropped the ball. The idea was bringing in two max guys to play with you kids.

You do your due diligence and evaluate Kawhi’s health. If it doesn’t check out you back off and let the fans know you had concerns.
