Of course that's what they WANT, but we have the leverage here. They are not taking two of our studs.

You're falling for Woj and Stein's mind games. Maginka isn't that stupid to give up that much for what could end up a rental.

Yes and no. Yes, do what it takes, but not anything.

I'm not giving up all of our youth for that. I'm still holding on to at least f***ing one of them, but probably two of them. Right now, for me that's Lonzo and Kuzma. I think keeping Lonzo is relatively easy. I think keeping Kuzma will be tougher, but could be more important.

Sure, 1 of them, but after 5 years of losing; I'm kind of tired it, my guy.

    I want to complete.

Look at the ages: Lebron 34, PG, 28, Kawhi 26, and if you keep 1 of the young guys they'll be in their 20 or older.

I'm not falling for anything. You have to give up something to get a 27 year old, best two way player. I prefer to sign george and wait one more year for him and then we lose nothing. If i had a choice I'd do that. I'd much rather have this lineup next year:

    Ball
    George
    Ingram
    Leonard
    Whatever Center

    Kuzma
    Randle
    Hart

That's exactly what Ingram will be posting, but we have to live with it.

    I'm ready.

GM'ing isn't as easy as getting 3 stars together and making it work. See OKC.

They did EVERYTHING wrong with managing their youth.

When you have talent on rookie scale contracts that can provide you close to what you're trading for vs. someone who's on the last year about to test the waters, there's a lot of risk involved if that player decides to up and leave. Then you're left over the cap and no assets left to make moves, your team starts to become dysfunctional, and it all falls apart.

Kawhi is a nice to have, not a need. Our best long run game is to get Lebron and PG and let them develop with our young guns. Look at Boston for example, they made a strong run with their youth, not a bunch of stars. Adding Lebron and PG will only drive that along at an accelerated rate.

Let's not be brash here and forge our entire future for a few years of an unknown commodity. IF we get Kawhi, it's on OUR terms and we move as few of our assets as possible to make things work.

I agree with you. I just don't think the Lakers are going to sell the farm for this. I think they're going to want to be Boston, not Houston.

I also think the Lakers pretty much know they've got George/LeBron on the way. They need to find a trade that gets Kawhi that doesn't affect those plans.

That means losing a bunch of the kids is probably a necessity, but as long as we hold on to one or two of them, I'll live comfortably. I'm not going to forego a chance at Kawhi, George, and LeBron for Moe Wagner or Josh Hart. I simply won't do it.

This isn't the same big 3. It's a far different situation.

But, I will gladly keep 1 or 2 of the kids. In addition to that, we always draft well in late rounds and we can always purchase picks to fill out the roster. I'm not worried about it.

There's also a reason we have so many guys we're looking at in Summer League and young players we're evaluating in general; if we find someone serviceable, they are cheap.

Kawhi was hurt last year, was a locker room distraction for his team, and has 1 year left on his contract.

Look at what OKC got for PG, who is also a very talented superstar two way player in pretty much the same situation- Olapido and Sabonis. That's literally the equivalent of us trading just BI and Moritz Wagner, hell that's still better than Olapido and Sabonis

And you want to give up BI AND Kuz AND two 1sts? That's crazy.

BI, Kuz, Hart and a pick he says. That’s like a nightmare scenario for me, those are my 3 current favorite Lakers.

All I'm saying is, we have the leverage here to not need to force our hand. Look at what Indiana got for PG - Olapido and Sabonis. That's it. Think about that.
