A few leveraging ploys for Kawhi if traded elsewhere. Can refuse to step into their locker room and threaten to sit out the rest of the year like he did in SA. Can also try to force a buyout.

A few leveraging ploys for LA if Spurs decide to wait on this. If (huge if) Bron and/or PG are in the bag, then we can encourage them and their reps not to sign until the Kawhi thing is resolved. If the entire market freezes cause the Spurs choose to hold Kawhi hostage, then can you imagine how upset and desperate everybody woukd be for the Spurs to just resolve it (including the media). It wouldn't be a good look by the Spurs.

Also we've seen and Kawhi's seen how the cbags did IT. Ky is currently on a press tour for Uncle Drew and Boston's owner came out to support him. Could you imagine how bad Boston would look if they dealt away Ky now. The backlash would be tremendous.

I'm sorry, I still think we have a ton of leverage here and the Spurs reek of desperation with all the stuff theyre feeding the insider's at the moment.

If we do eventually become the only team to offer the best package, every declined call the spurs get from other teams, then our deal should be less and less.

    Our offer now should be

Ivica, Hart, 2 unprotected first rounders, Deng. Take it or lose Kawhi for nothing

If it ends with Kawhi, George, Leonard...I'm okay with it as much as it hurts. But you gotta get the three.

The upside of a Godfather offer = more cap space

We can fill out the rest of the roster with vet mins and ring chasers.

I'm not worried. We're in the driver's seat now. We can't mess this up.

Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Deng and whatever draft picks. THAT'S it. No other trade. Sorry. Question now is, do the Lakers have enough to get Paul George? Anyone figure that out?

I’ll say this about the current off season compared to the last few: it’s not boring.

I mean, Indiana got REALLY lucky Olapido stepped up the way he did. Otherwise, that deal for PG pales in comparison to ANY package we would've given them OR that would we give to Kawhi.

Whether it's Ingram or Randle or both, they are known quantities with high ceilings. That alone outclasses what any team can offer outside of maybe Boston who can offer Hayward or Brown, but are they willing to kill the chemistry or give up players on high value contracts for a rental? I doubt it.

Ball's in our court, Spurs are the desperate ones because if they wait until the deadline, those offers, including ours, become worse. Deng, Zubac, and 2019 1st.

Not Ingram and Kuz. Replace Kuz with Randle and that's the most they will get.

Yeah I’m thinking Godfather = Ingram + Randle and probably Zu and picks.

If we come away with LeBron, Kawhi, PG13, Kuz, Zo and Hart I’ll adjust to losing those two.

The deal would be Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma. I have no doubt that Spurs would want those two. NOW. if they do, then they HAVE to take Deng. And I really do not care about the draft picks. Give them #1 in 2019 and #2021.

So, Lakers give BI, Kuz, Deng, two #1s for Kawhi.

Lakers then sign George, Randle and Lebron. Is that possible?

On second thought, couldn't this be more San Antonio smoke? Lakers have a big offer, so you better make your offer much higher than before?

This is why I have advocated and have said before "don't get too attached to our youth." And I have gotten attached to some extent, but when the opportunity for winning rings comes along and getting the players that can help you achieve that goal, you have to do it.

Now, what's the end game? The end game is this: James, Leonard, and PG. Simple.

If that's the case, do whatever you have to do to make that happen.
